Bloody Brilliant Documentary...
Steve Mitchell has captured a wonderful piece of work revolving around one of cinemas greatest pieces of work as Mitchell takes us from the beginnings of Cohens career on TV in the 60s to his prolific work on Blaxsploitaion through the 70s and 80s to writing one of my favorites of the 90s (Phone Booth) by tackling each project one by one. We hear some really interesting stories from some of the guys who knew him best and get a real good personal loving look at Larry Cohen and his long spanning career.

Very funny sequel
Contains spoilers, click to show
So after years of waiting for a sequel to the brilliant original and this year we finally got it and it just about surpasses the original.

All the original stars are back along with new and very funny character madison (played by zoey deutch) who is dumber than a box of frogs. The plot itself is very basic but that doesnt matter because the film runs on all the jokes.Hopefully there wont be such a long wait for a third film.

Oh and there is another hilarious appearance by bill murray this time during the main credits.

Couldn't put it down
What an amazing book. It's the first book I've read by this author but it wont be the last. Amazingly written, I just couldn't put it down.
I loved how each chapter was a new day and you really got to see exactly how much could happen in just one day from the point of view from each character.
Kept me guessing and always suspicious. Absolutely brilliant and honestly one of the best books I've read in a while.

This is a short but very sweet prelude to the world of the Keepers of the Stones and is followed by Curse of the Ice Dragon.

You are immediately swept away into the world of Feira and the village in which she lives. You are given an incredible amount of knowledge in a short time but in no way overloaded. She has the power to heal but also to harm as there must be balance in all things.

Absolutely brilliant and also loved Curse of the Ice Dragon. Looking forward to reading more of this series as soon as it's available.

Great music
Amazing amazing film!!!! Not enough people have seen it. I watched it first as a kid and Alan Rickman's antagonist fish scared the life out of me. It wasn't until I was that bit older that I was able to watch the film all the way through. The music is very catchy and as the film progresses it's very easy to become invested in the characters. Love, family, loyalty, bravery, friendship and a touch of magic. 10/10 would recommend for everyone who likes films that are a bit different.

Smart, funny, and a pretty good tune!
Dumb Ways to Die in one word: Hilarious.

A game based on the Darwin Awards is a brilliant idea, and the games creators should be proud of themselves.

The levels are always entertaining, sometimes tricky, and probably not suitable for playing in public. Mainly because you occasionally have to blow into the microphone for some reason, or steer with your phone, and you do tend to look ridiculous.

Well worth a play, and a listen, as there is a song, which will get stuck in your head!

American Horror Story - Season 9
American Horror Story - Season 9
2019 | Horror
Well the story isn't as deep as previous seasons and you certainly miss Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson from the cast but I am a sucker for an 80's slasher movie so still got allot of enjoyment out of this. I really liked the look and vibe of this season (the opening titles are brilliant) that captures the decade very well. Some of the plot twists are completely ridiculous but it rattles along at a fast pace and is never boring and made for a very entertaining season if not quite up with the series best.

Another mixed bag of Lovecraft-inspired fiction and poetry. As usual with this sort of thing, some of the stories are basically in-jokey games of Spot-the-Yithian, while others suffer from the authors trying too hard to bring their own agenda to the HPL milieu. Some reasonably good stuff apart from this, though, assuming you like pulpy horror-fantasy. Editor S.T. Joshi gets very precious, even perhaps a touch pretentious, about this stuff given how cheesy and broad-brush some of it is. The wheat-chaff ratio isn't brilliant but it passes the time.

Shrek-tastic fun
Found this gem whilst browsing online, I was surprised I hadn't heard of it being a fan of the franchise so was eager to give it a look.
based on the 2001 DreamWorks Animation film Shrek and featuring elements of sequels Shrek 2, Shrek Forever After and William Steig's 1990 book Shrek! This is a brilliant performance by both cast, crew and musicians with wonderful set colours & designs, really catchy musical numbers classic lines & some subtle adult jokes.

The runtime is a little over 2 hours which is more that enough to enjoy.
