A cracking Swedish whodunit/thriller. I have heard great things about the books so thought I would give this a go. The DVD has the option of subtitles or English Audio, I went for the audio as I was a little tired. Thankfully not one of those films where the dubbing appears totally out of sync and distracts you. It takes a little while to get going but the last hour or more is brilliant. Very brutal and violent at times to, but this is up there with the best thrillers around!! Very surprised an English version is being made just next year? Going to be near impossible to better this in any way??

THIS BOOK IS BRILLIANT!!!

All baking recipes are themed on Game of Thrones with an artistic or puntastic edge to them.

From Hot Pie’s Wolfbread (a basic wholemeal bread, shaped into a wolf like he did on the show) and Sansa’s Lemon Cakes to a Red (velvet) Wedding Cake (3 tier cake with ‘blood’ pouring down the side) and the one I really REALLY wanna try myself Oberyn’s Smashing Surprise (long story short a decorated chocolate shell filled with red jelly so you can re-enact the scene and squish it open with your fingers, just like The Mountain did to Oberyn’s skull, mwahahahahaaa).

Oh yes, I shall be making a few of these recipes.

Inspiring
This was the 2nd book that I read in the Goddess series and it was just as good as the first one I read. I love how strong and thought out the female characters are, how they tend to be more mature women that are still finding themselves rather than the clichéd teen dramas, and the attention to detail that Cast puts into the world building.

This is a retelling of a sorts of the Legend of King Arthur and is simply brilliant. If you enjoy retellings of fairytales and myths then you really must read this series, please note that it isn't for younger readers as it has explicit content.

Just finished watching brilliant movie great performance's from the cast overall as I already knew alot about the history of the Manson family and Sharon Tate murders that shook America in 69. Loved the music score. Both leoando DiCaprio and brad Pitt are excellent as the washed up actor and his stunt double who are the heart and soul of the movie. Margot Robbie plays Sharon Tate the actress who would become victim to the family. the film is good but not my favourite Tarantino film that's still pulp fiction but it's good film the only thing too long but that's okay.

I really expected to like this book, but it didn't really live up to my expectations. Plot is aristocratic family, land rich and cash poor and what are they going to do about it. Nothing really new there either. Some other reviewers have seen this as a brilliant satire, but I'm afraid for me it was just a novel with lots of characters, many very undeveloped and most of them not even very likeable.

It is supposed to be the first part of Weldon's Love & Inheritance trilogy, but a lot of lose ends are tied up and this could really be a standalone novel. Certainly I'm far from feeling the compulsion to read the next two volumes.

This is a brilliant, emotional and pretty book
This is a beautiful novel. I found it slow to begin with but it is worth while persisting. The story centres around the inhabitants of the isle of Norday is the North of Scotland in the early 20th century. The protagonist Thorfinn Ragnarson is a bit of a daydreamer and his thoughts and dreams are narrated within the novel. This allows Brown to explore a rich and sentimental Scottish history whilst capturing the beauty and untouched lives of these rural Scottish farmers. Furthermore, the novel explores the effects of the Second World War and its devastation on these simple folks. Lovely.

The best thing you never watched
Banshee was cancelled because no one watched it. Why did no one watch it? I can't say, those that did watch it raved about it. Maybe it was ahead of its time, pre Netflix shows required well known faces, while Banshee recruited actors who were unknown but fit the character.

It was sexy, violent, dangerous and cool. Criminals who are heroes, a bank robber who replaces the ID of a cop who was murdered so becomes the towns police while at the same time trying to hide from his criminal past which wants to kill him. Brilliant stuff. Go watch it now.

It was through word of mouth that it came to my attention and I have rarely heard anyone having negatives to say about it so that seems to fit with your review. It had the right mix of everything that makes a show work. Timing has a lot to answer for in all the arts.

Paranoia
One of Matt Haig's earlier books and I'm becoming a bit of a Haig disciple after reading a great number of them now.
The Possession of Mr Cave is the story of fatherhood lead by paranoia and is quite difficult to put down. Paranoia effects every decision and judgement from a father that loses one child and is desperate to preserve his other. Is he being possessed by his dead son or is he just losing his mind? Does desperation to be a great father cause you to be a great father or will it stifle life? You want to continue reading every page, just one more until its end. Another brilliant read!

The Art of Dying
Very interesting book which looks at the experiences of those who have been around people who are dying and all the strange experiences that are seemingly commonplace. The books purpose is to teach that death is not to be feared and to stop stressing in life as we are only here for a short while. After reading it I am sure in life after death. These are academics whom have researched global experiences and all report people who have died visiting people who are dying before they go and taking them with them. A brilliant book you can learn a lot from.

Full-On Belly Laughs Galore
I haven't been as devoted to this podcast as much as others but occasionally check in and binge. I listened to the Paul Rudd episode and laughed so hard tears streamed down my cheeks and my stomach hurt. I went on to listen to several more, including Neil Young, Tina Fey, Zach Galifianakis, and John Oliver. All of them were wonderful. The podcast is a relaxed setting so everyone lets their guard down and doesn't take themselves too seriously and they have time to share stories. It's a delightful, fun romp through the brilliant minds of Conan O'Brien and his guests. Never a dull moment.
