Character development (2 more)
Plot
Brilliant writing
One of the best zombie books I've read and the start on an epic series
Contains spoilers, click to show
Patient Zero is the first book in Jonathan Maberry's Joe Ledger series. Jonathan Maberry is a phenomenal writer, in this series he introduces us to the DMS (Department of Military Sciences) a shadow government agency formed to respond to advanced terrorist threats such as bioterrorism, alien technology etc..
In this book we meet an array of characters such as Mr Church, Aunt Sally, Top and Bunny when Joe is recruited by Mr Church to help deal with the potential release of a zombie virus. This book is thrilling, funny, and keeps the reader itching for more.
I give this book 10/10.

Martin Lakin (278 KP) rated Deadpool 2 (2018) in Movies

Recaptured the spirit/feel of the first film
Even though I don't quite think it was as good as the original film, I do highly rate this as a top quality sequel that lives up to the potential it always promised.
Ryan Reynolds is perfect to play Wade Wilson/Deadpool and both the first film and this film totally redeems the character from the shambles that was Wolverine Origins.
The entire cast is brilliant and the cameos that feature blew me away.
I kept away from spoilers before watching the film and one character that features completely blew me away as I thought he wouldn't appear.
Overall this is a great film and well worth a watch if you haven't already!

Merissa (13816 KP) rated The Wandering Fire (The Fionavar Tapestry #2) in Books
Dec 17, 2018
This is the second book of the Fionavar Trilogy and it just keeps getting better and better.
This book makes me laugh but also makes me cry ... every time! I won't give out any spoilers but all I will say is that I can't read a whole section in one go without wiping the tears from my eyes. Call me a sap but I love it when I get so involved with a book that I can be made to cry, especially if it's not the first time I've read the book.
Two additions to this book might not sit well with some people and that is of the characters of Arthur and Lancelot. Personally I liked their appearance and it didn't come as a surprise.
Brilliant.

The books are bestsellers, here is the series
If you debating whether to watch this or not, if you haven't seen Vikings yet, ignore this, watch that first. It's one of the best series ever. However when you have watched it you will want more and you can come into this. This is still brilliant. A fascinating bloodthirsty and dangerous part of British history. The noveks have sold bucket loads. The only thing that lets it down is the lead actor should be a little scary as well as the hero and he's mainly just heroic. Still, it doesn't take away from the entertainment factor. I love this.
Lee (2222 KP) rated Doctor Sleep (2019) in Movies
Nov 1, 2019
I really wish that I had re-watched 'The Shining' before catching Doctor Sleep, as it's been far too long, and I kind of feel it would have helped my enjoyment of this movie a lot more. However, despite all of that, I thought that Doctor Sleep was an incredible movie.
Ewan McGregor gives a subdued, but brilliant performance as the troubled Danny Torrance and Rebecca Ferguson is captivating as the psychic vampire Rose the Hat. Great score, amazing visuals, plenty of nods to The Shining, but still enough to stand out on its own. At 2h 31m, I never felt that the movie was dragging at any point either.
Full review to follow, but for now let's just say that I loved it!

Merissa (13816 KP) rated Tanner (Romance & Revolutions #1) in Books
Mar 4, 2020
I thoroughly enjoyed this book as it takes us along with Tanner and Shane. I loved how it was acknowledged that things had moved along too far in one direction, which wasn't benefitting anyone.
Tanner and Shane are such a cute couple. I loved how open-minded Shane was and even able to put his own little twist to things. Plus, his relationships with the other omegas was just a joy to read.
A brilliant introduction to this world and I really want to read more! Absolutely recommended by me.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Apr 13, 2020
A phone call from an old friend sets Dr. Giovanni Vecchio back on the path of a mysterious manuscript he's hunted for over five hundred years. He never expected a young student librarian could be the key to unlock its secrets, nor could he have predicted the danger she would attract.
Now he and Beatrice De Novo follow a twisted maze that leads from the archives of a university library, though the fires of Renaissance Florence, and toward a confrontation hundreds of years in the making.
I really enjoyed reading this! Loved the discovery of witches vibe I got. The characters are brilliant I loved them all.it flowed easy enough and I didn't want to put it down. Look forward to book 2.

Coming of age teen comedy
Brilliant program with a but of something for everyone! Easily relatable.
From the mind of Mindy Kaling, the show takes us into the crazy yet completely relatable world of Asian-American teenager Devi Vishwakumar.
She’s had some major downs in the past year and is determined to turn it all around as she focuses on becoming cool, getting a boyfriend and just living her best life.
That’s all easier said than done, of course. And watching her attempts in the hilarious 10- episode series is an absolute hoot.
But if you need a bit more convincing then we’re more than happy to explain all the reasons why this is the best Netflix show you’re not watching right now
