Stunning!
Been excited to see this one since I saw the trailer on YouTube. Cameron and Rodriguez bringing the comic to life got my nerdiness in a tizzy. And the movie didn't disappoint. The film is beautifully shot. The locations and characters feel real. Was able to watch the 3D version, which only added to the beauty and detail. The ending seemed a bit tacked on and rushed but overall this was a fun ride, led by the stunning title character whose eyes lock you in from the opening and never let you go. Would recommend.

Being John Malkovich (1999)

"Being John Malkovich mashes different genres and spins everything on its head. Spike Jonze tends to do that — he’s got his own unique take on the world and I love it. He’s probably the number one director that I would love to work with. Charlie Kaufman is one of my favorite writers too. John Cusack is so good in that movie — just so sad but yet so funny — and Cameron Diaz killed it in that role too. That’s my favorite of hers. The fact that Malkovich even agreed to do the movie is such a fun element within itself. It works on many levels."

Sci fi action at its finest
Alien and Aliens have to be up there with The Godfather I and II and Raiders/Temple of Doom and one of the greatest one-two punches in movie history.

"They mostly come at night...mostly"

Make sure if you are watching after not seeing for awhile or never seen you watch the 1990 "Director's Cut". As with several Cameron epics, the story and characters get flushed out a lot more and the extra scenes are very good. With Aliens, though, I would have omitted the scene near the beginning where we meet Next and her family when they discover the chestbursters. I think Newt's reveal works better if we were to first meet her while crawling around underneath the decks of the colony.

The only thing that ever bothered me was the extremely bad timing of Ripley being floating in space for 57 years, then she gets found, then they lose contact with the colony on LV426 right after that? Talk about a horrible coincidence!

Another remarkable item of the film;s slow progression is we don't even see an alien until well over a hour into the film and it doesn't matter. The tension built and anticipation Cameron delivers are amazing!

Nonetheless, Aliens is a masterpiece of sci fi cinema which has rarely been equaled. Now if only they wold quit trying!.

The Running of the Bulls
Knight and Day- is a good action, comedy film but its repeating alot of comedy action films, it feels like i have seen or watched this film before/a dozen times. Let me know if you heard of this before.

Two charcters who dont know each other, one is a spy and one is some unknkown. The spy gets into the unknown person life, and now their on the run because the spy betrayed someone or many people before him. The spy is also trying to save/protect a person and valveable that a evil bad guy wants to destory something/the world. Hmm sounds like i watched the before, thats because you have. This is just a repeat of that.

The plot: June Havens (Cameron Diaz) chats up her charming seatmate on a flight out of Kansas, but she doesn't realize that she will soon land in the middle of an international adventure. The fellow passenger, Roy Miller (Tom Cruise), is a covert operative who claims he has been set up to take a fall. Now his reluctant partner, June must dodge bullets in Boston, leap rooftops in Austria and evade bulls in Spain, while she and Roy learn that trust is the most important survival skill.

I like that chemistry between Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, its really good and the action and comedy is good. Other than that though its just a repeat of other comedy action films.

The 2014 re-make of Annie, starring Jamie Foxx as Will Stacks, Quvenzhané Wallis as
Annie, Rose Byrne as Grace, Bobby Cannavale as Guy and Cameron Diaz as Miss Hannigan
is a musical that is fun and caused me to sing along.

The story was cute, and obviously at least somewhat predictable if you are older
than 30-ish.

Parts of it were a very tiny bit scary for my son (6), mostly centered around Annie
being swept off by 'bad guys'.

Cameron Diaz does a pretty good job as Miss Hannigan and sings fairly well. She
doesn't 'copy' Carol Burnetts role as Miss Hannigan, but rather makes it her own,
modern version.

Jamie Foxx is great as Will Stacks and has a great voice. He portrays gruff and
unapproachable very well, and I liked him in the role.

The show stealer was Quvenzhané Wallis as Annie. Her performance was great and she
sang her little heart out. I connected with her emotionally and found her to be very
believable as a kid trying to find her place in the world.

I liked the film, and feel it is a good re-make. It isn't one hundred percent like
the original, but a new, modern twist on it.

My son liked it, and my husband liked it more than he thought he would.

We would be happy to see it again in the theatre.

I would give this over 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Gabriel Luna as the new terminator is amazing shouldn't mention I've met him twice in the last two year's at conventions. Anyway good movie recommend to anyone to see the movie

bloody LOVED this book!
Independent reviewer for GRR, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Let me just put this out there, Ok?? I'm a straight cis woman, on the wrong side of 50. I read a lot of MM books, and have read some with trans main characters. I have not ever read a T4T (my apologies if this is incorrect, but I'm trying!) book, never. So I went into this with an open mind and an open heart and an open book brain.

But let me tell you about this book!

There is a bit at the beginning of this book, that the author wrote. I don't usually bother with those, unles my book feelings tell me to read it, so I did and it gave me a much better insight into Sam and Cameron, but also into this author, as some of this book is their story. (again, apologies is this is incorrect, but I couldn't find your preferred pronouns, so went with the best option!)

And what that bit does, my good peeps, is set it all out for you, in a way a lay person like myself can understand the terms, words and difficulties being a trans person comes with.

While this book is set over a long period of time, over a year, I was surprised at the speed at which things moved for Sam, once he made the decision to become himself. I know in the UK these take a long, LONG time, so that surprised me.

Sam and Cameron are perfect for each other! Cameron has already transitioned, and Sam has the dawning realisation that he is not in the right body after reading one of Cameron's books. That CAMERON makes him see who he really should be, a man and a Daddy. These two are absolutely perfect for each other, they really are! Loved how the D/b relationship developed.

I will be honest, I wasn't sure the smexy times would work, I don't know WHY I thought that, but you know me and my book brain, but bloody hell! They work, trust me! Super spicy smexy times!! Loved that!

You get deep into the psyche of being trans with these two. The emotions are deep and heavy in places. Made me cry in some places, it really did, the weight of feelings that these men have about themselves. It's really painful reading in parts, and I think you need to be aware if you have any triggers regarding body dysmophia.

I LOVED this book, in case I didn't say it yet!

I see two pairings among the side characters, one set have their book next and I will be reading that book, and any more that come along! I also found that this is only the author's second book, with a short before this one. And bloody hell, they smashed it out the park!

I cannot give it anything other than. . .

5 full and super shiny stars

The Deadmen are back...

But so are the demons who have broken free of their eternal prison and are bent on mankind's destruction. The worst of the lot is Vine, determined to claim their lives for taking hers. She will see the world burn...and has the perfect lure to destroy them all. One of their own.

Kalder Dupree has never known a day of mercy. Born to the cruelest of mer-races, he sacrificed himself for his crew and is in Vine's hands. He expects no mercy or rescue.

Yet Cameron Jack is determined to set Kalder free. As a Hellchaser, it's her calling, and she cannot allow even a not-so-innocent to be tortured for an act of kindness that spared her damnation.

To defeat evil, it sometimes takes an even worse evil, and Cameron is willing to do whatever she must to make this right. If Vine thought she had her hands full before, she hasn't seen anything nearly as powerful as Cameron's resolve.

I absolutely love Sherrilyn Kenyon! I struggled with the first book and sometimes this one was a bit of a struggle too but overall another great book from a very talented writer! I got so excited to see Savitar, Archeron and Simi!! No Dark hunter novel is complete without Simi and her BBQ sauce!!

I did find it funny swapping from normal to pirate talk my husband thought I was crazy laughing to myself!

Quinn's back! (0 more)
An old friend
If you haven't read any of Shayne silvers or Cameron O'Connell where have you been? Seriously though the world that these two have built will absolutely draw you under in such an amazing way. I suggest starting from the beginning with Nate Temple and following him down the rabbit hole.

I'm just so thrilled to have Quinn back and to find out what's been going on in her world since we last heard from her. I will say she did not disappoint and I was just thrilled to spend some time catching up with her. Although, she did have to skip out before finishing her story. I know she will be back to share the rest of her adventures soon.

Jason Reitman recommended Alien (1979) in Movies (curated)

Alien (1979)
Alien (1979)
1979 | Horror, Sci-Fi

"Alien is a perfect film and if I were to ever make a sci-fi or horror film, the benchmark for me would be Alien. I would put Alien and Aliens side-by-side, actually. I think Alien 3 is mediocre and I think Alien: Resurrection is a travesty. AvP is fun. Whoever wins, we lose, you know — why not? I would love to see a return to greatness for that franchise. Knowing that David Fincher was given a chance, it’s actually kind of confusing. I think with better writers Alien 3 would be measuring up, because obviously he is as quality a director as Scott or Cameron. Jeunet is a brilliant director too, but just not right for that series."
