The Magician is the first book in The Necronomicon Guardian series and we meet klutzy Charlie who doesn't appear have to much going for her as far as magic is concerned. And yet, somehow, she gets picked for a job that will get her killed. Instead, she finds herself falling down the rabbit hole and being blackmailed into doing another job that may get her killed!

This is a quick read and the pacing is fast too. It mostly takes place within 24-hours so hold onto your hats. Although you don't meet any of them in depth, there are numerous characters to tantalise and tease. Personally, I want to see more from Glenda. As for Blade, well, we'll just have to see what his story is in future books.

As with all of Maya Daniels' books, it is full of snarky humour and action. I get the feeling this is just the start of a brilliant adventure for Charlie and I can't wait to see what happens next. A wonderful start to a new series and definitely recommended by me.

My Heart & Soul is the eleventh book in the Lyrics of Love series and was previously published as Rather Be by Melissa Pearl. In this story, you meet Charlie and Nixon - two high school sweethearts who let life (and parents) get in the way.

Charlie is the free-spirited one, the one who wants to travel the world. Nixon is the steady one, the one whose parents want him to become a lawyer. At first glance, it appears these two have nothing in common but the music they both like so much. Can there be more to their story than just music though?

Their story is as much hopeful as heartbreaking and there are plenty of times when I just wanted them both to spit out just how they felt about each other. It happened, trust me, but all in good time. It was great seeing previous characters in this and catching up on their stories too, whilst the focus remains firmly on Chix.

A great, sweet, contemporary romance that I enjoyed and have no hesitation in recommending.

Thanks to NetGalley for my copy of this book. A great combination of intrigue, mystery and even a touch of the supernatural, this whodunnit is filled with a fair few climactic twists. DI Charlie Moon returns having to work against the grain after his suspension from duty, even hiring the help of a local journalist to solve this gruesome murder. While the conclusion may have ended abruptly, it culminates in the ultimate karmic retribution. Jenny Francis manages to capture both the idyllic countryside and the brutality of injustice in one swoop of her pen. An enjoyable read.

This book is one you can read time and time, again. Simultaneously beautiful and tragic. It details growing up, suicide, puberty, depression, anxiety, relationships, sex, drugs, and secrets. Told by way of secret letters in a diary style, each one showing more and more clearly the daily life of Charlie, a strange outcast who wants to belong but also just wants to observe. I highly recommend putting yourself through this wonderfully written adventure. Get ready to be heart broken by almost every page and uplifted by the moments of elation as though they were your own.

Fast, funny, absurd, and thoroughly enjoyable, Charlie All Night is a fun-filled romp filled with great characters! This is my first Jennifer Crusie book and I can't wait to read more from her, especially since I've heard her newer books are even better. While the bit of mystery isn't real strong, Ms. Crusie's flowing plot and zany characterizations are wonderful, and more than make up for it. In some ways, this book reminds me of early Janet Evanovich romances, although Jennifer Crusie's have a more timeless feel to them. A very nice, light read to curl up with. :)
