Whatchareadin (174 KP) rated Something Blue (Darcy & Rachel, #2) in Books
May 10, 2018
I read Something Borrowed 2 years ago, and after seeing the movie again recently, I decided to pick up this book. I didn't expect it to go in the direction that it did. I was hoping that the story would focus on Rachel and Dex, but instead, Darcy was the focus of this book.
After ending her relationship with Dex and Rachel. After calling off her wedding and finding out she is pregnant, Darcy has some big decisions to make. Marcus, the one she cheated on Dex with is the father of her children and while things with him should just fall into place, it's not working out that way.
So Darcy plans a trip to England to "visit" her childhood friend, Ethan. While there, she discovers a lot of things about Ethan, about herself, and about her relationships with others. She grows in ways she never thought that she would.

I loved, loved, loved this book! 5 STARS!
Blue Van Meer is a young girl studying at Harvard who decides to write about her life. Kind of a brainiac, and a bit odd, she starts with some tidbits of her childhood. Her mother died when she was very young, so she was raised primarily by her eccentric father who is a professor that moved her around a lot, from place to place. But most of the book takes place in Blue's high school years, particularly her senior year where she meets and befriends her teacher Hannah Schneider and joins an elite group of eccentrics, named the Bluebloods. And then, there is a murder.
Its a great mystery, a definite page-turner and you see how this murder has impacted Blue's life, and my goodness, it just gets better and better as you read on. I'm a big fan of Pessl's now!

Rob zombie makes micheal myers into a 2 hour film
Contains spoilers, click to show
Yes if you didnt know that rob zombie directed a halllowen film, well this is it.
Rob Zombie's remake of halloween takes alot of risks. But do their pay off no their dont.
Rob focus on younger micheal for a good hour and thats a bit to longer, and than the last hour is a fast paste copy and paste of the oringal film.
So many swears in this film. Their is like over 100 swears. 20 in the first 20 minutes.
Im not sure why rob zombie directed halloween, it was a intrest choice. Also rob put his wife in the film.
Halloween, could of been more, but with its long run time, a heavy focus on micheal myers childhood and a rush copy and paste of the oringal. Halloween fails as a remake.

Interesting Plot
Love the Deeper Meaning
Beautiful Animation
Fun Filled Adventure
When I first heard about them makong a Lego movie I was worried. As someone who gre up playing with Legos and watching the previously made animated movies produced by lego, I wanted to make sure that if there was to be A Lego Movie that it would live up to my childhood dreams, this film did exactly that.
I loved the multiple worlds of lego as well as layering the film with deeper life lessons and meanings on what it means to be special anf different.
This whole film was beautifully done right down to the animations. The charactera really make this film and I can't help but praise whoever designed the script, both the dialogue and the execution of it is wonderfully done, I couldn't possibly ask for more.

I saw and I enjoyed
I have to be honest, this was a book I would never buy from the cover or from reading the back blerb, but it landed in my lap and I picked it up then I couldn't put it down. Never since I was a child have I read something since my childhood, where the characters are so vivid they become real and pictured in your head. They become characters you love like a friend and so route for them. This is a book about live without being a cheesy live story. This is a book about seeing things differently without being pretentious. This is a book about abuse without being focused on it. Joe Heap has written something quite special, a story of two wonderful characters who make you want to turn every page to will them on. I'm so glad I picked up this book.

Seen by some as an 80s Godfather light, this masterpiece of storytelling stands very much on its own two feet. There is a melancholy and nostalgia that make you care about the characters in ways many crime films don’t achieve. Led by one of the best cinema scores there has surely ever been. Ennio Morricone’s haunting melodies stay with you for life, evoking in turns the spirit of childhood, the regret of old age, and the ache for love and happiness that ultimately evades every one of them. Moments of laughter and glory turn to brutality, betrayal and bitterness, leading to an ambiguous end that breaks the heart. The look and feel of New York, captured with immense care in every shot, is a character in and of itself. An extraordinary allegory of what we were, what we dreamed we’d be and what we actually became.
