This is one of those films I'm struggling to say veru much about. Not because it's bad, it was actually good but in my eyes fairly unremarkable. It was well made, with some good performances from Ben Foster and Chris Pine and a good script and soundtrack. But for me it just didn't excel. And as much as i like Jeff Bridges, I'm a little concerned he seems to be playing the same character in everything he's been in recently.

No I haven’t but it’s in my Netflix watch list, sounds like it’s worth watching? Is it the one with Jeremy Renner?

Yes it is (: I again watched this, not by choice, on another work trip a year later. But I definely enjoyed it more, the storyline was more engrossing I would say more of a mystery than action.

I really enjoyed Gal Gadots' take on Diana in this movie she gives a very good strong performance and Chris Pine was the perfect foil to her character. Costume design, cgi work and the pacing of the movie. (0 more)
I didn't like the final battle it was a fairly good twist in the end but it just didn't feel as good as the sciences leading up to it. (0 more)
On the right track
All in all I thought this was a very good movie with great performances especially from Gal and Chris. I really enjoyed the comic levity Chris Pines' character gave between Gal Gadots' naive attitude at times. Also the space inbetween actions scenes I took as a direct link towards her upbringing as she got to basically enjoy herself whilst others learn to fight and then her aunt started to train her and then she started to grow into the woman she is meant to be.

Stop The Runaway Train Before Its Too Late
I have seen this movie about 6-7 times now. Each time i watch it, its a good time. The action, the drama and the suspense. Both Denzel and Chris do a excellent job in ths film which is inspired by true events.

The plot: When a massive, unmanned locomotive roars out of control, the threat is more ominous than just a derailment. The train is laden with toxic chemicals, and an accident would decimate human life and cause an environmental disaster. The only hope of bringing the train to a safe stop is in the hands of a veteran engineer (Denzel Washington) and a young conductor (Chris Pine), who must risk their lives to save those in the runaway's path. Inspired by true events.

Its a good movie.

I want to be an Amazon
The opening of this film was spectacular. the use of athletes as amazon was genious and worked better than anything CGI could produce. I truley was excited by this film and then they left the Island.

Unfortunely I found the middle to be far to long didnt feel a great connection between Diana and Steve on boat or in London. Honestly if those scence where a lot shorter I would of given this film a 10/10. however they kept the length and for me it ruined the film. The last half hour was great and the opening was stunning.

Want to start by saying there will be spoilers here in my review for those who haven't seen the film. Okay what can I say was it worth the wait yes three lockdowns cinemas closing and everything else there was a point where I didn't think I was going to see the movie is it as good as the original yes coulda been shorter than 2 and half hours but that's my only gripe overall excellent performances from the cast especially kristen Wigg who almost steals it from gal gadot would I watch again yes just wished I had seen it on the big screen in IMAX instead on Amazon prime

Feature-length movie set in the D&D universe, this is much better than the 2000 travesty, with Chris Pine this time taking the lead, alongside Michelle Ridriguez and Hugh Grant and is set in the 'Forgotten Realms' campaign setting, with Baldurs Gate and Neverwinter both getting name-dropped.

(I must admit that, as large parts of it were filmed in my home of Northern Ireland, I did spend quite a bit of time playing 'spot the location').

It also has a refreshing low-stakes feel about it (there's no real 'end of the world' disaster to be averted), and I did also feel that it had elements of Monty Python around it (particularly in the talking to the dead graveyard bit)

I was lucky enough to see this in theaters with my 'rents. I do not agree with Warner Bros decision to release same day on HBO Max, so I initially wasn't going to see it, but my dad bought the tickets.

The story itself isn't bad, but it is wayyyyy too long. I have an issue with how long the first section of the film was, taking place on Themiscyra. It didn't really add to the story, other than showing the gold armor that's worn later. I think it was just an excuse to have Robin Wright and crew in the film.

Kristen Wiig, of course, as horrible as every. Normally, I avoid everything with her like the plague, she's not funny, nor is she a good actress. She was highly annoying, and the CGI at the end was SO BAD. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for bad CGI for these delayed films, they had an extra six months to make sure it looked good.

I loved that Chris Pine returned in WW84, I'm always up for some Chris Pine in movies. I did find Diana's unwillingness to give him up initially a little off for the character. It just wasn't Wonder Woman, and coming from a woman writer, it was weak.

The climatic speech was not the strongest, not unlike the climatic speech in the first film (Seriously, the improper grammar during the climactic speech in WW haunts me). It was just kind of lame.

Now, good ol' Pedro Pascal, I liked his character overall. I wish they'd have shown more of the little snippets of his history prior to the climax, i.e. being made fun of due to being Hispanic, changing his name to something anglo. That was the only point in the film where I actually felt something.

I did like it in general, and I would watch it again. It just wasn't as strong as I wanted.

Visually stunning, but dull
You can tell a film isn’t great when it pops up on Sky Cinema without being advertised. I didn’t realise this was even available until scanning through the new premieres, which is surprising considering it’s Disney and has some big named stars in it.

As you’d expect with Disney, the visuals in this are flawless. It is a very beautiful, colourful film and you can really appreciate the impressive quality of the effects. The problem is that the visuals are pretty much the only thing going for this film. The plot is convoluted at best and also very dull, and apart from the usually endearing Chris Pine, all of the other characters are either boring, too odd and ill fitting or with such questionable motives that don’t make sense at all. Don’t get me wrong, the film is watchable to a point (although the ending is very very dull), but it’s sadly one of those that is instantly forgettable the moment it finishes.

Drop-dead gorgeous, it's so refreshing to see a post-apocalyptic drama that doesn't turn its characters into flat, unfeeling beings nor mostly take place in some crusty, rehashed wasteland. Not that this is secretly some masterpiece or anything, it isn't - it really begins to wake up (expectedly) as soon as Chris Pine enters the picture - but it flows along unwaveringly at a low, melodic hum with breathtaking locales and invigorating music. All three leads are exceptional, and while it isn't even a fraction of the thematic powerhouse it could have been it still manages to wring a commendable amount of captivating intrigue out of its simplistic setup. Can't stress enough how addictive the atmosphere is: calm and homey, beautiful, yet inevitable and bleak as hell. Meets some sort of transcendent crossroads between "The Last of Us" and "Unravel", in video game speak. This Craig Zobel guy really knew what he was doing with this, god damn - one heck of a genre tonic.
