Merciless (Dominion, #3)

The Dominion trilogy concludes with our heroes trying to find any way they can to stop Oblivion from unleashing his end game. While some elements made me roll my eyes, for the most part I was pulled into this fantasy story from page one. This one also finally includes some Christian themes.

"The kids' book. You have to read it again to get what I'm talking about, but to the whole thing is an explanation of how language breeds duality, which then creates preference. Do you like my hat? The object of life is to break through that and get the party, which means transcending preference. The dogs finds it up the tree, which is a little too Christian for my taste, but they do get there."

2007 remake of a 1950s original (which I haven't seen), and - I'm sorry to say - , this just didn't do it for me.

Despite starring two stellar actors in Christian Bale and Russell Crowe, I found this to be slow, plodding and just, well, boring; never really taking off or holding my attention at all.

You want to see a good film/Western (in all but name) by James Mangold? Stick with the infinitely-superior 'Logan'.

Kaycee Raye is known in town for her paranoia. But when someone does break into her house, leave a threatening message, and then take it again before the police arrive, will she get anyone to believe her? I saw a major twist coming fairly early, but for the most part I enjoy this tale of Christian suspense.

Merry is a reporter in a small Pennsylvania town. One night, she arrives home to find a body in her trunk. Which means the killer starts coming after her. I loved this book just as much as the first time around. The Christian aspect is handled well, the story moves quickly, and the characters are lovable.

I was a little hesitant about this book as at first I thought it might be a another overly christian based mystery with a lot of bible references (since the main character is a reverend). Well that is not the case with this mystery. Lindsay is a not your average reverend! This is a true cozy mystery for any fan of the genre and will have you liking Lindsay from the moment the character jumps on the page.

Romeo and Julie know nothing of romance
This is a tale of true love with plenty of action thrown in for good measure.
Christian slater at his best with several other big names thrown in for good measure Gary Oldman, James Gandolfini, Dennis Hopper, Christopher Walken.
There is nothing these 2 crazy kids won't do for each other.
I don't have much more to say, watch it and find out.
You won't regret it.

I loves this film as a kid. I would love to be able to get my hands on a copy that isn't VHS. The film tells the story of Hans Christian Anderson. Through the film and his travels he tells his famous stories to different audiences through song. These include, The Ugly Duckling, The Emperor's New Clothes and Thumbalina. After all the years since I've watched it I can still recall the songs clearly.

The Good Book for Kids: How the Bible's Big Ideas Relate to YOU by Lisa Tawn Bergren is a great book that teaches the Bible for kids. The Bible is broken down by chapters from Genesis to Revelation in an interesting way that gains the attention of kids. This book can be viewed as a devotional for kids. The lessons are short but have meaning.

The book is a narrative of the main stories of the Bible. The stories are written in way that engages children in a way to instill Christian principles. After the short lesson, the book has a section titled "skinny" which breaks down the lesson into key points with a modern twist. At the end of each lesson there are a few questions that are asked that can be used as discussion points.

This book is a great resource for church, Bible class at a Christian school or a devotional at home.

I received as ARC from David C Cook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

No idea why I did that to myself
I just wasted two hours of my life watching this tripe. Despite hating the first film, and the entire franchise, I put myself through it again - a bit like main character Anna. I guess we're both masochists.

In spite of the red room and all of the instruments of torture, Anna goes back to Christian. And that's the entire film with a few fireworks. Don't strap yourself in for this one believe me.
