Plagued by a dull script and another phoned-in performance by Natalie Portman, it lacks the humour and sheer sense of madness that the god of thunder’s story requires. Christopher Eccleston also wins the prize for the MCU’s very worst villain – Malekith. May god help us all.

The slow progression of the plot would have been fine had the ending been stronger. The last twenty minutes were a whirlwind and not in a good way. If the film is an unsettling ice cream sundae, the ending was an ugly cherry that tastes as bad as it looks.
For what it's worth, the story is definitely intriguing with simple, yet complex details. It's weird, yet somehow heartwarming. Despite my dislike for the film as a whole, Eccleston and Kate Winslet both played phenomenal roles. Two performances that were almost enough to carry the film.
Not quite. I give Jude a 67.

David (771 KP) rated Doctor Who - Series 1 (New Season - 1) in TV

If you have never seen any classic Who this was a great place to start. The mystery of a blue police box and its lone traveller in space and time still keeps you guessing on where we will be going next and who we will meet, friend or foe. Old enemies and new still keep you poised to jump behind the sofa.
The mix of humour, drama and Sci-Fi still makes this the best British series ever. It is a shame Christopher Eccleston didn't do more than one series but he certainly did a 'Fantastic' job at bringing this much loved character back.

Show runners Russel T Davies and Stephan Moffat make a great team with Moffat being a great writer to invoke your inner fears the monsters he creates are top notch and Russel T Davies keeps the series well run and created thw Arc structure that Moffat fails at in later series.
Not to mention it always good to have cybermen darleck back on our tv screens
