If you’ve ever owned a velvet choker, dressed like someone from The Addams Family, or insisted The Cure sold out with “Friday I’m in Love,” then chances are you’re super into gothic cinema. At the very least, one of your favourite films—whether it’s The Craft, Lost Highway or Near Dark—belongs to the gothic tradition.

Gothic cinema is about drawing the curtains and identifying with outsiders. And with the genre making a comeback, Interview have put this together:

Good production for a low budget film
Quite gory
A decent Slasher film
A decent Slasher film with a new mask wearing killer on the rampage. I like the idea of the Killer coming out of the Slasher film he is in and taking people from the cinema into the film. Worth checking out for Slasher fans.

One of the most awesome moments of cinema history, courtesy of Mr Hopkins. I won't give it away, but if you don't belly laugh, a sense of humour bypass is going on (4 more)

A great horror
This is probably one of my all time favourite horror films. I find most horrors a little tame and predictable, but this truly scared me. Especially originally watching it at the cinema! As with Dog Soldiers, Neil Marshall does a great job with a mostly British cast, creating a tense and terrifying film. And I loved the ending.

When it comes to remakes or re-visions of old films I often find myself asking why? But as the original 1990 It felt very restrained and safe there really was room for potential with this adaptation. It is extremely watchable and enjoyable
