It's life Jim but not as we know it
I saw this at the cinema and must admit it wasn't what I expected. More of a thinking persons Sci-fi film. It has some interesting ideas and Amy Adams is brilliant. However I think it's one a lot of people might not understand. One that will divide opinion.

SummerLGrant (185 KP) rated Detroit (2017) in Movies

Fascinatingly horrific
A film that follows the horrific events of what happened in Detroit in 1967 that reflects not only what society was like then but what it is still like today. It's thought-provoking and gut-wrenching and you leave the cinema with a heavy feeling in your gut. It's a little too long, bits can definitely be trimmed off here and there. It's a film everyone needs to see.

Decent Sci-Fi Thriller
I remember this seem to go under the radar on release, I think it only had a short run at the cinema. Some kids take up a science project and manage to come up with a time travel device... But things don't go well when you mess with time! The SFX are quite good for the budget. I really enjoyed it and would watch again.

A must watch for Slasher fans
An above average straight to DVD slasher. Surprised could have done ok at the cinema. A creepy looking killer, good location, quite a few familiar faces in the cast including William Sadler! Quite gory in places, the story is original if very far fetched. A mix of 8mm, Scream and Wrong turn. Better than most recent slasher films I've seen.

First time i saw this at the cinema wasnt sure i would like the movie cause i remember watching the edward woodward version in the 80s and being a fan of the tv show. I wasnt disappointed by the movie very voient especally the DIy fight scene between him and the bad guys denzel washington is perfectly cast as mccall. All i can say bring on the sequel

The house that blah, blahblah! Another couple of hours spent watching artsy fartsy pretentious excrement that I'm sure some will assume is masterpiece of life changing cinema!
This director just doesn't improve with age, and although some may say that you need an open mind to take in all of the hidden meaning, I say invest your time better.
Matt Dillon is O.K, Film is Crap, be warned!

Just watched at the cinema my kinda plenty of jump scares made me jump quite a few times during. Both actors kaya scodelario and Barry pepper are both brilliant at showing terror as they hurricane and giant alligators in there flooded basement.bascally it's a two hander thruout the movie which works u only need a small cast for this type of movie definitely would watch again
