Bloody good
You have to have an open mind for this type of film. The first was a classic and the series along with Avp has gone down hill mainly since. Although @Predators (2010) was OK.
This has a vibe more in keeping with the original. Gory kills, the humour and camaraderie of the soldiers. Along with the finale. The action overall is pretty good. The only downside is the rather silly storyline at times and the Predator dog. A film to enjoy rather than take too seriously.

Surprisingly scary
I need to be frankly honest, last night was the first time I ever watched this film and I'm a little ashamed to admit it.

As far as classic horrors go, this one is pretty good. Yes it is a typical 80s film and to say it's a little dated would be an understatement. It is surprisingly scary and creepy, and the effects are very impressive for the time. It does go a little bonkers in parts, to the point where it had me wondering if it was a dream sequence as opposed to the actual film (it wasn't), but its still a very enjoyable film.

Modern movie making techniques helped to improve the last third or so of the movie. Overall it's not terrible, just totally unnecessary

How about 99 out of 100 remakes are crap! I can think of only a handful that are good.

First of all, being a fan of BBC period dramas, I absolutely love the genre of the TV mini-series. And The 10th Kingdom is one of my all-time favorite. I remember watching it our recorded copy on video cassette (hard to believe its that old ?) as a child and I'm pretty sure that it was the source of my fascination with fairy tales. The special effects are actually surprisingly good. It's a pity that it took them so long to make this first series because it would have been interesting to learn about some of the other kingdoms in the second "book." Overall, such an amazing cult classic ?

Kindergarten dad
Workaholic Howard (Schwarzenegger) has been missing time with his son and wants to make things right with him and wife, Liz. promising to get Jamie the hottest toy of year, Turbo-Man. Although it's Christmas Eve and the toy is practically sold out, Howard is determined to get the gift he promised, during this quest, Howard meets Myron (Sinbad), another father on the same quest. With the clock ticking , Howard's moral code is tested as he starts to learn the true nightmare before Christmas (lol).

Great comedy and plenty of gags, a heartwarming story with a perfectly set tone and plenty of Christmas joy, this is a Christmas classic.

A timeless classic!
I hate to admit I had never seen the original Mary Poppins until today. I really loved it.

While not made for a 47-year-old man, I found plenty to enjoy including some songs I already knew and some new ones I had never seen before. I like musicals, but am still sort of a novice at them having not seen some of the classics.

The story is a simple one; however, that does not mean it is not entertaining. I really liked it a lot.

Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke were amazing.

Hi @Amy Curtis ! No I haven't. I don't get to the theatre too much and the reviews were just mediocre so I'll probably wait and watch at home.

The Glass Slipper
Cinderella- With a wicked stepmother (Eleanor Audley) and two jealous stepsisters (Rhoda Williams, Lucille Bliss) who keep her enslaved and in rags, Cinderella (Ilene Woods) stands no chance of attending the royal ball. When her fairy godmother (Verna Felton) appears and magically transforms her reality into a dream come true, Cinderella enchants the handsome Prince Charming at the ball, but must face the wrath of her enraged stepmother and sisters when the spell wears off at midnight.

Dont you feel bad for Cinderella, i mean i did.

"Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo", is my favorite song from this movie.

A classic animation film.

The Kiss
Sleeping Beauty- Filled with jealousy, the evil witch Maleficent (Eleanor Audley) curses Princess Aurora (Mary Costa) to die on her 16th birthday. Thanks to Aurora's guardian fairies (Verna Felton, Barbara Jo Allen, Barbara Luddy), she only falls into a deep sleep that can be ended with a kiss from her betrothed, Prince Phillip (Bill Shirley). To prevent Phillip from rescuing Aurora, Maleficent kidnaps and imprisons him. The good fairies are the last hope to free Phillip so that he can awaken Aurora.

So i did watch Maleficent and its sequel and i liked them, their were different, a different take on the oringal movie.

Sleeping Beauty is a classic.

What a feel good film
I am surprised that this film doesn't have better rating as I love a good classic and this is definitely I my top 10 list.

It really is such a lovely feel good film that you can sit down with the family to watch. Combined with a few fantastic songs from the title one for starters to "truly scrumptious".
I love that it is a very much an ugly duckling feel to the story.
Always love a dick van dyke film ever since I saw Mary Poppins when I was little.

One for those rainy days with a blanket and a bucket ful of popcorn.

Good yet unnecessary adaptation of the classic animated film.
The movie did a good job of capturing the essence of the original animated film. Cast and set were able to recreate much of the fun and adventure of the original, a feat Disney is often able to do. Where the film suffers is in its foray into modern social movements seemingly for no reason, and the absence of two key voices, Gilbert Gottfried and the incomparable Robin Williams. Will Smith and Alan Tudyk are sufficient but don't come close to the former iconic role players. Overall, the film was good, yet in the grand scheme of things seemed unnecessary.

Clever but a bit weird
I have been wanting to read this book for a long time and thought I would fit it in as a quick filler while I have essays to write. I had great expectations for the novel and whilst my expectations were met, I wasn't overwhelmed. I guess like 1984, the time in which the novel was written makes the work a classic. Its a simple read and cleverly structured. Using animals make the book simpler and perhaps easier to carry a political message without getting too messy. All in all, I'm not blown away but I did enjoy it.
