If you haven’t read the last few books, be aware this one spoils some pretty major things by necessity since they had a major impact on Hannah’s life. Those up to date on the series will be happy to learn we get an answer to the cliffhanger from the last book early on. This book is a return to the status quo of a few entries ago. After a slow start, the pacing gets better once Hannah returns home. There is still plenty of talk about cooking, however, but we get clues and red herrings until we reach the climax. The characters are all here, and I enjoyed seeing them, but there is little in the way of actual character development. That includes the love triangle, which is back in play here. We get another nineteen recipes, and I think I gained weight reading about them. They certainly sound delicious. Fans who have stuck with this series will enjoy this outing. If you are new, don’t jump in here but go back to the beginning to see why we love these characters.

Durin is a young fae - not noble and thankful for that small mercy. When he sees a noble fae mercilessly bully and kill a young shifter, he is enraged and works hard to hone his magic into a weapon, determined to enact vengeance on the shifter's behalf. He fulfils his vow but is made to pay in ways he never imagined.
During this time, Rue is trying to hide the fact she has just presented as an Omega. In her pack, that means she will be Alpha Mate and passed around for all the alpha's to share. Funnily enough, that's not a future she wants. So she does the unthinkable. She runs away, and her mother goes with her. They find a place to hide and life seems good.
Fate throws Durin and Rue together and he helps her through her heat, resulting in a pregnancy with Vaegon. If the name sounds familiar then check out Rachel Grey's Unnatural series and you'll find out why. Of course, life isn't easy and neither of them is in an ideal place, so prepare yourself for the cliffhanger because it's a doozy!!!
It isn't all about Rue and Durin though. There's a whole mystery in here too, with the Queen and her wicked ways. The world-building is phenomenal to get everything in and not leave you wanting.
This was a fantastic story that had me hooked from the first page. I really felt for both Rue and Durin and can't wait to see what happens next. Simply wonderful and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.

Kieren, Roark, and Evander are thunder-mates, which means when they find their mate, they will share. They have been searching, hosting 'candidates' as they try to find their mate. Raine is the last opportunity, as they are tired of it all. They all feel something for her, but is she the one? Not only that, but trouble is brewing between the dragon clans, most especially with their long-term rivals, the Firesteds.
This is fairly fast-paced, with some skips and jumps in the timeline. On the whole, it flows fairly well, but I did get lost a couple of times. While the main male characters are also pretty much defined, there were also a couple of times when I had to go to the beginning of the chapter to make sure I knew who was speaking. Leo is the only one I didn't confuse! I want a Leo of my own!!
I found this to be a lighthearted and fun read. I don't fully understand the role Aisling has to play yet, as I don't feel she added that much to the story, but I'm hopeful it will be clearer as the story progresses. It does end on a huge cliffhanger, though, so consider yourself warned. The ending didn't come as a surprise, but I look forward to the next book to see where it takes me.
If you like dragon shifters and why choose, then I can recommend this one.
