Erika (17789 KP) rated Glass (2019) in Movies

Bruce Willis is just collecting a paycheck at this point in his career. (1 more)
Foreshadowing makes everything completely obvious.
A completely polarizing film
Disclaimer: I've now seen this film twice, and I'm fully prepared to finally write this review. I may be a partial M. Night apologist, so, warning, that's where I'm coming from. Side Note: Avatar: The Last Airbender is never a film I'll defend, it sucked.
This is probably not the movie people were expecting. This film was purposely the antithesis of the standard superhero film, and it was completely on purpose. Yes, the end was anti-climactic, however, for these characters, it made complete sense.
My issue was that the heavy-handed foreshadowing made the story line completely obvious. Again, I watch a lot of films and read a lot of books, so I am rarely surprised by twists. One of the twists was foreshadowed by Split itself, and the lineage of a certain character was kind of obvious once it was revealed Unbreakable was connected.
I also feel like Bruce Willis is just collecting a paycheck, he was mostly just moody Dunn. Which, was fine for the character, but it's almost all of his characters now.
I absolutely adored James McAvoy in the film, his performance made the film worth watching, hence, why I went again. Also, I want all of Casey's (Anya Taylor-Joy) clothing worn throughout the film.
Again, this is a polarizing film, and I'm sure a ton of people will disagree with me. But, it was the perfect ending to the trilogy.

Justyna Gniadek (1 KP) rated Gallery Of The Dead in Books
Jun 15, 2019 (Updated Jun 15, 2019)
I parked at my local tescos and for over 30 minutes you need to spend £5 for the parking. I was in a rush so thought I'd grab the first book that had an interesting plot. Gallery of the dead sat on my shelf collecting dust for weeks/months. I have decided to give it a go the other day and I am so glad to have picked it up. This is my first time reading a book by chris carter but he ahs my attention every single page. I cant wait to get my hands on more books from the robert hunter series. A must read for crime loves I would say and highly recommend reading it! You'll get hooked!

Very interesting backdrop Side characters and monster designs
The Legend of Zelda Mario Style
Link crashes on a foreign Island meets up with a lot of really zany characters and has to wake up a magical fish God that's trapped inside of an egg on top of a mountain by collecting 8 different magical instruments
Pretty crazy story even for a Zelda game my favorite thing about this game is the very imaginative ideas put into it everything from the creatures to the mini-games to the characters to the backdrops it just has a lot of personality and uniqueness put into it

David McK (3642 KP) rated Shadows and Secrets (Star Wars: Darth Vader #2) in Books
Jan 28, 2019
Collecting Darth Vader comics issues 7-12, these are all set after 'A New Hope', but before 'The Empire Strikes Back', with Vader still on the tail of the daring rebel who blew up the first Death Star, and with him now knowing that that rebel is, in fact, his son that he never knew he had.
That mission, however, is not the front-and-centre over-arching plot strand of this collection: rather, we have Vader engineering a theft from the Empire, and then trying to cover that theft up when he is tasked, alongside a zealous aide, to find out just who had done so.
Not bad, but not the best of the new Star Wars line comics I've read.

Mo (66 KP) rated Harry Potter: Wizards Unite in Apps
Jun 21, 2019
Experience the magic world (2 more)
Lots of great references to the stories
Augmented reality
Poorly implemented (2 more)
low immersion for an AR game
Highly buggy app
I looked forward to it but it did not live up to my hopes
I loved the idea of Wizards unite, since I heard of it more than a year ago, unfortunately this does not live up to what it was suggested to be. The story is poorly constructed, the app constantly struggles with interactions. The items you encounter are negligible most of the time and not worth collecting.
Seeing ingress and pokemon go from Niantic I hope this would be at least a passable harry potter experience, unfortunately it has made me free less special than I did before I got it.

jd2105 (10 KP) rated Century: Golem Edition in Tabletop Games
Feb 24, 2020
Great family friendly introductory game!
I really enjoy this game. This is a great game to introduce to people new to the tabletop gaming industry. Century golem edition is a rethemed version of Century Spice Road. Both games are played the exact same way. I prefer Century Golem Edition over Century Spice Road, for no other reason but looks. Century is a great set collection game with minimal "take that" mechanics that can turn people away from other that collecting games. Easy game to play, an easy game to learn, challenging enough for beginners, not so easy for heavier gamers to avoid playing with new gamers.
