"Emma Straub and I went to high school together and there must've been something in the water! This is a great, true to life New York story taking the reader from college to midlife crisis. Filled with real life relationship issues — family, romance, humor! A great read!"

"I saw this film in college, and I’ve never been the same since. It’s a bit slow in parts, but the imagery is so surreal and magical that I copied the look many times in some of my own films. The art direction is a masterpiece."

"A film that picks the viewer up and changes him forever. The first “art film” I saw, in a college screening, and I haven’t seen it since, perhaps not wanting to tamper with that memory. Memorable also for providing more parody fodder than any other film."

As a fan of other books she has written, I had the opportunity to read a Tart of Darkness which is part of a new series.

The main character of Dani is starting a new life after unexpectedly inheriting a house from her deceased grandmother’s best friend. She decides to start a chef-to-go business preparing ready-made meals for local college students and also providing personal chef and catering services. To help fund the new business, she opens the house up to a few college boarders whom she becomes a big sister figure to. A friend of one of the boarders is found murder and somehow Dani becomes suspect

This book was given to me one of my last days of college, my friends told me to read it because I reminded them of a character in it. I finished it in one sitting, and have now read it multiple times. It's humorous and a quick, short read.

"“It’s the best coming-of-age film ever made. It’s the story of these four guys who drop out of school and decide not to go to college, and it follows what they do that summer as they try to figure out what to do with their lives.”"

"The directorial debut of Jack Nicholson. It may be rough around the edges, but that’s what makes it work. Felt like a very honest depiction of college life in the sixties and seventies, yet anyone in any decade dealing with that early-twenties malaise can identify with it. "

Loved this, actually made me cry in a scene. Pretty clean sex scenes, fooling around mostly. Not much of a college romance, maybe a scene or two. Focused more on the two cha. Anyone know if Tessa is in a another book? Would love to see another book in that world.
