Censor is yet another shining example of how damn good modern horror can be. Every minute of it's rather brisk runtime is simultaneously unsettling and intoxicating.
Lead Niamh Algar gives us a sympathetic and increasingly unhinged protagonist to get behind, even when things really take a sinister turn. You so desperately want her to be right in her suspicions, even as the reality grows clearer, and Algar carries all of this with aplomb. It's her show through and through.
The constant foreboding atmosphere is complimented by a brooding music score, plenty of great cinematography and a colour scheme that manages to be vibrant and bleak. The finale in particular nails it's landing with the help of some hugely effective and stylish editing tricks.
A hugely impressive and tight debut feature length from Prano Bailey-Bond. I'm excited to see what she brings to the table next.

Everyone knows pink is a gateway colour
addams family attempts to bring the classic family into modern day and while not a bad little film it doesnt do nearly enough to make them as memorable for a new generation of kids/teens as it did for people my age growing up. I must say I quite admire this film for trying to differentiate its self from the constant barrage of animated features weve had this year. Its colour pallet is mostly drab, cold and dark colours which I enjoyed and fit well with the gothic/spooky vibe of the film. Theres also a lot of cool halloween things to look at in the scenes that are set inside the familys house and humor at times can be incredibly gross or darkly adult too which really made me giggle (most of which children are thankfuly to young to understand). Animation while not overly detailed was nice to look at also be it the warts on an old hags nose, spiders crawling the walls or the way the bottom of Morticias dress squirms around the floor as she walks are just some of the neat little attentions to detail making this world a little more strange and alive. Plot and story wise its a little dull and while I found some clever ideas implemented here they really are not executed very interestingly. I did find some of the ideas fun however like the way the movie pokes fun at current trends eg all the girls at the school wednesday goes to have those hidious duck lips, all look identical to one another and obsess over instagram. Everyone in the town also has odd habbits of thier own and the seemingly nicest person also has a much darker side to her, not to mention the entire town is filled with hatred for anything diffrent, easily influenced by social media, full of fake happiness and coated in hidiously garish colour choices which makes you question who the 'ugly' and 'strange' ones really are here. Subtle themes of child abuse, belonging, acceptance, being yourself, death, honour, pressure, loneliness as well as other heavy subjects strangely fit well here making the film a little darker than I expected too. Sadly theres not much here for kids who will undoubtedly be bored quick because big spectacle set pieces are few and far between/not very exciting either and what I found enjoyable ie the subbtle violence, gross adult humour, adult themes and gothic visuals wont likely intrest them either. Oscar isaac and Charlize theron voice work for Morticia and Gomez I found very enjoyable and the score at times really stood out to me a lot at times creating a nice eerie atmosphere. Not nearly as bad as people make out Adams Family may be a tad forgettable, have an extreamly rushed third act, story arcs that go nowhere its creepy, kooky, spooky, and enjoyable enough to warrent seeing at the cinema for sure.

Absolutely outstanding and timely reminder of our past
I managed to miss the cinema screenings of this recently, so was very happy to discover that it was going to be shown on the BBC as part of their centenary remembrance schedule and I'd be able to enjoy it at home.
A collection of old archive footage from World War I shows young boys enlisting in the army and going through their training. It's narrated by actual WWI veterans, describing how they lied about their age in order to sign up and recounting their fears and excitement while preparing for battle. Even at this point in the movie, it's an effective and interesting use of the tired looking silent black and white clips we're all used to seeing.
And then we suddenly see where all the time and effort has been spent on this movie, as one of those tired looking clips suddenly transforms into vivid colour. And it's not just the colour that's been applied either. Where these original film clips would vary in frame rate, resulting in that familiar jittery sped up effect, that's all been corrected here, with computers used to apply missing frames and provide a smoother realistic experience. Sound has been added too, not just the explosions and sounds of war, but voices of the soldiers. The team were able to lip read the restored footage and then record actors voices onto it. Apparently, the cinema release even has a touch of 3D applied to it!
The result though is simply incredible. We're taken into the trenches and into the war itself. Not only does it make the horrors of war all the more real and horrific, but it also makes the fun and the laughter that the soldiers still managed to share all the more poignant too. It's absolutely outstanding, and something that everyone should see.

I came across this app a while ago and for some reason, i csnt seem to stop playing.
There is nothing too challenging about this, you simply have to guide your koi around the pond, feeding it certain aquatic creatures.
As the game progresses, your koi will grow, the pond will expand and eventually your little koi will breed.
There are many colour variations of koi that can be need. Once your pond has grown to optimum size, your koi will evolve into a dragon.
The difference between Zen Koi and Zen Koi 2, is that in the second incarnation of the game you are still able to interact with your dragon in s limited fashion. You are able to guide them around a small patch of sky, collecting essence, which you can then use to decorate your pond.

Watched last night on blu ray and in colour and loved everything about from the script the setting a prison the doctor played by Jon pertwee in his element now into his second season as the doctor. But let's not forget to mention the villain of the story the main villain of the entire season the master as played by rodger delgardo most doctor who fans will tell he was the first and probably the best master of all time he gives the role gravitas he can be both charming and then totally evil at the same time its shame he died in tragic car accident while on filming abroad . anyway still good story some nice action scenes near the end Katy manning is brilliant as jo grant in only her second story let's not forget unit always realied on to come to the rescue. Wont mention the dodgy looking dragon at the end of episode 2

I'll keep this one relatively short - Onward is fucking delightful. It's brimming with charm, it's emotionally exhausting, it's full of colour.
It feels different for Pixar. The opening scenes feel more like a Dreamworks effort, but it's not long before the studio's signature stamp is prominent. The narrative is imaginative, and emotionally draining. I'm a goddam grown man and I 100% was welling up on multiple occasions. I'm a big brother who has always hoped that my younger brother looks up to me, and I frequently feel that I don't always get it right, so this screenplay really got me. Right in the feels.
It also happens to have a damn fine voice cast just to seal the deal.
Onward is genuinely brilliant. Seeing Pixar's take on the realm of Tolkien-esque fantasy is wonderful, and it deserves to stand up with the studio's very best productions. Now excuse me whilst I go and cry into a pillow.

'You're pulling my leg,' says one character when the events of Almodovar's seventh movie are explained to him: suffice to say this is a frantic screwball farce (with the odd serious moment), involving a voice-over actress, a cell of Shiite terrorists, the least successful viewing of a rental property in Spanish history and a jug of gazpacho soup spiked with tranquilisers. Starts slow, but accelerates rapidly once it gets into its stride.
Almodovar is coming into his stride as a film-maker and his classic style has more or less appeared by this point: the film is full of strong but vulnerable women (the men are feckless or stupid and generally not worth bothering with), the whole thing is bursting with colour and compassion, and the plotting is rather preposterous even before we consider the outrageous coincidences peppering the film. Very entertaining; if not quite one of Almodovar's best movies, then an important step on the way there.

THAT is how you make a film!
Okay, I know what you are going to say... "Marvel, its okay for us to go 30 seconds without laughing" But DAM! This is how you make a movie! There is so much more to it than just the humor, which is just the right amount of silly, cheesy, perfectly timed.
I just love the 80s vibes, it's done to perfection, form soundtrack to colour palet to end credits it is a wonderful blend of Nors awesomeness and Back to the Future mixed with a little Sat Wars.
Can not get enough of this one, defo in my top 5 Marvel films. Oh Deadpool, you know you my guy š

This is a really well written, thought provoking, short read. It is the day in the life of an unnamed, black, female protagonist, and the racism and misogyny that she encounters constantly both at work and in the wider community. Even when she is offered a promotion, her work colleagues believe she has got the job because of the colour of her skin and her sex. The fact that she has had to work twice as hard as anyone else to get where she is, is ignored.
I canāt help but think that sheās not happy in her job or her relationship, and her cancer diagnosis is pushing these matters to the front of her mind.
Thereās a lot of racism in this novel, and the effects of that on the main characters psyche. To be constantly thought of as āless thanā must be frustrating, depressing and maddening.
Iāll be very interested to read what comes next from Natasha Brown.
I canāt help but think that sheās not happy in her job or her relationship, and her cancer diagnosis is pushing these matters to the front of her mind.
