"“Serpentine!” The funniest movie ever made. A buddy comedy with unparalleled chemistry between the two leads, Peter Falk and Alan Arkin (and Cassavetes’s DNA is at work even beyond the Falk connection, as John would replace the director of the disappointing not-quite-a-sequel, 1986’s Big Trouble). Falk and Arkin are a mismatch made in heaven. Rumor has it this was Brando’s favorite movie and is the reason he signed on to The Freshman, which was written and directed by The In-Laws scribe Andrew Bergman. Richard Libertini almost manages to steal the film in the last act as an eccentric Central American dictator/ventriloquist/art-lover."

"A testament to how sexy and personal a film about politics can be. Though the film could have been preachy or shrill, the story’s aperture stays tightly focused on the shifting feelings of its protagonists, how their understanding of the politics around them begins to change, how they feel about themselves and, in turn, how willing they are to love with abandon. And finally, it showed me how valuable a small gem of comedy is: Daniel Day-Lewis telling beautiful women to take off their clothes because he is a doctor (a lie) serves as a touchstone of rakish charm throughout the most dire moments of the movie."

"This is a wild farce, it’s shocking that he got away with it in the middle of World War II. Betty Hutton gets drunk saying goodbye to soldiers going off to fight, and she gets knocked up. You never know what happened but everyone says let’s get married, because she’s pregnant. She has no idea who the father is. How he got away with this in the middle of the production code in the middle of World War II, I have no idea. Eddie Bracken plays a guy who’s so madly in love with her, he agrees to be the father. It’s a great comedy, really a farce."

"I saw it when I was 13 and it had an amazing impact on me, I couldn’t believe something was so funny and so smart. The level of writing is so crazy; it’s a continual inspiration. It blew my mind. I was at home babysitting my younger siblings. My parents were out dancing, and it came on at 1:30 AM. I would watch Saturday Night Live, and it was on after. I thought it was a horror film to start because it’s dark and there’s the pop-pop-pop and there’s smog. In the movie, that’s their preamble thing that I missed, so I didn’t know it was a comedy."

"I would like to go on record as saying that creating a top ten list is a living nightmare and I don’t know how anyone does it. That being said, let’s come out of the gate, straddling a bomb, with Dr. Strangelove. It’s perhaps an overstatement to say this movie shaped my entire conception of comedy, but it’s not that much of an understatement either. So: a statement. To me, this is the best Kubrick film. I think of the line “Don’t say that you’re more sorry than I am, because I’m capable of being just as sorry as you are” all the time."

"It’s probably gonna be a very comedy-heavy list, but, one of my favorite movies is Superbad. Big Judd Apatow fan. I kinda always have been, still am, and that movie actually came out, like, my senior year of high school, so it was kinda like the perfect timing for me. It was right before me going to college, and if you remember Superbad, that’s what their whole quest was. Jonah Hill, Judd Apatow, Michael Cera, all those guys, Seth Rogen, Bill Hader — those are all still, to this day, some of my favorite comedians and actors to watch. That’s a big one for me."

Early noughties (2003) Jack Black musical comedy, in which he plays a slacker guitarist who is kicked out of his band and then gets a job impersonating a substitute teacher at a local high class school in order to pay his rent.

Initially reluctant to do any work at all or to engage with his class, that changes when he hears them during a music class and then decides to form a band so that he can enter the local 'battle of the bands', with himself as the lead singer (which later changes). Cue life lessons in confidence, sticking up for yourself, etc etc...

This is an amazing book covering Victoria's life from birth . Features stories and anecdotes from people who worked with Victoria, her family and friends.
Being a huge fan I've read a lot of books about Victoria and this one is the best,so much information that I didn't know and featuring photos I hadn't seen before.
It gives us an insight into what Victoria was like "off camera".
I highly recommend it if like me you're a fan of comedy .

Laugh out loud quirkiness
A big fan of this comedic duo of internetainers from their YouTube channel, this book did not fail to deliver the same humour, creativity and genius that you would expect if you watch their long running series.
I very much enjoyed the stories and pictures of this almost lifelong friendship, and the people that are close to them, mixed in with their standard quirky style silliness, from inventions to pre-written eulogies, crazy adventures, that pose on that sofa!
Its a book you can pick up, read, put down and go back to. You don't need to be a mythical beast to enjoy Rhett and Link's comedy.

I enjoyed this. It is exactly as described: a mystery/romantic comedy.

She may not have been the P.I. in the world in this, but it gave me plenty of laughs when she fell out of the tree and got chased by a man being investigated for fraud.

I also liked the romance aspect of it. Nick was not going to give up in his pursuit of Addison and Addison really should have just ripped his clothes off all those times she wanted to. Pity they never actually got round to doing the deed; interruptions were a plenty.

Definitely going to read the rest of the series!
