Good idea, poorly executed
I find Amy Schumer a bit hit and miss. Her book and Trainwreck were great, but everything else I've seen her in has been poor. And I'm afraid this film is probably closer to the latter.
First of all, the message and idea behind this film about body positivity is wonderful and there is a lot in this that I can relate to (the opening scene in the gym for instance). Also the exchanges between Renee and Emily Ratajkowski's character were well done in highlighting how people judge the girls who are lucky enough to look like models (I'd be lying if I said I dont do this myself). The problem is it's very poorly executed. For a comedy, I think I laughed once and despite the good message, I found it rather dull. And Renee's big personality change due to her new perceived beauty seemed a little bit far fetched
I did however enjoy Michelle Williams being utterly ridiculous as Avery and there really needed to be more Tom Hopper!
Overall there's a great message in this but I think it sadly gets lost in poor execution.

Budget show but it works ridiculously well!!
So I first saw this program on tiktok a short video made me laugh so I thought why not I'll give it ago!
So when I first watched this I thought it was pretty low budget and the acting was shit. But as the episodes went on I got lost in it and I have binge watched it and almost finished. I feel the budget outlook gave it some sort of charm every episode makes me laugh and I have got lost in this story.
So this is about a rich family the roses who have unfortunately lost everything except for a small town the dad John Rose (Eugene Levy from American pie) brought for his son. This town is called schitt's creek and its about how this posh rich family go there with nothing and you see how they all grow up. It has the right amount of comedy and romance to keep me hooked. If your bored and looking for an easy watch, this is definitely the one. Good actors (took some getting used too) and a good story line. Keeps you laughing throughout.

I've reviewed a few musicals here and there, and always feel I need to make a comment about how I don't really like musicals in general... The Rocky Horror Picture Show is of course a huge tight wearing exception to this stubborn rule of thumb I have.
TRHPS is just a blast from start to finish. Richard O'brien's song writing is top notch - it's clever, catchy, cheesy when it needs to be, funny, and classy.
Pretty much every character is iconic, none more so than Tim Curry's Frank-N-Furter, easily the most sympathetic, enthralling, occasionally psychopathic mad transvestite scientist to ever grace a cinema screen - definitely in my top 10 movie characters of all time.
Beneath all of the absurdity is a solid narrative, that is equal parts weird and tragic, and manages to meld together B-Movie schlock, Universal Monsters vibes, dark comedy, rock n' roll, and cheesy horror, and does it all phenomenally well. It's a joy to watch all these years later.
Rocky Horror was ahead of its time in many ways, and is the ultimate cult movie. It's a damn masterpiece.

Cast chemistry
Plenty of action
Great long running TV series
I've watched this show since the beginning, just finishing the 9th series at present. I really enjoy it. The beautiful locations of Hawaii, including the Hilton Hotel which helps sponsor the show, is a great setting. There is always plenty of action, car chases, shootouts and fights. The cast chemistry and the good stories make the show though. The cast are well known, especially those from Hawaii based Lost. Always with some comedy elements as well. Individual episodes are generally of a high standard but the story running through the series are very good. It's a shame a lot of the cast quit over equal pay for series 8 onwards. The new cast members are doing OK. I love the Halloween themed episodes each year, often like a mini horror film! I didn't see the original series but it also pays tribute with some episodes which is a nice touch. It even has an occasional cross over with NCIS: LA. Overall 9 series long and going strong. Check it out if you haven't been watching.

When three different animals become infected with a dangerous pathogen, a primatologist and a geneticist team up to stop them from destroying Chicago.
Lots of eyebrow action from The Rock, but even that couldn't save him from being upstaged by George the gorilla.
I've got no knowledge of the video game this is based off... but really, who needs it. Yet another film that does what you want it to. It's a solid action adventure with hints of comedy.
The parental advisory at the beginning saying there were crude gestures had me confused. After all I feel like we see that quite a lot in movies but it's never listed on the rating card at the beginning. It all makes sense once you see a giant gorilla flipping off The Rock.
A great monster movie that won't leave you disappointed. I'm almost certain that I'll be seeing this one again. My initial viewing was in 3D, there were no particularly bad parts to it in this but I certainly didn't feel like anything benefited from it.
Classic enjoyable Rock action, love Jumanji, and looking forward to Skyscraper. He's definitely on a roll.

A runaway couple go on an unforgettable journey in the faithful old RV they call The Leisure Seeker.
Helen Mirren and Donald Sutherland in a movie together... I wanted to love this one. I'm sad to say that I really didn't.
Having not seen a trailer I was completely blindsided by the actual subject matter. From the things I've seen, and the IMDb description above along with "Adventure, Comedy, Drama" under it's entry I was expecting something entirely different. Something funny, and more like a teen road movie, but with older people. But the tale of last chance before ill health wins, is bleak to say the least.
It's a strong and important message about life with, and after, illness. The two are essentially on the run from their ill health, Ella is terminal and John is nearly completely lost to his memories. You get the fleeting highs and lows that the couple do throughout, but they don't make up for the slow and "every day" nature of the movie.
This one was another on the "I'd have left but then I wouldn't have been able to bitch about it" list.

I expected more from this cast
Not sure where to go with this, I don't like starting a a film and not finishing it, so I kept going with it, and by the time that it kicked into gear near the end, I found I had lost all interest and was doing a other things while watching it... Not caring who lived and who died....
I expected good things from a cast that included Michael Sheen, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Margot Robbie... However I was massively disappointed, apart from the very occasional funny bit, the humour didn't work and wasn't funny and the horror until near the end was almost non existent...
I was trying to think of some positive things to say but all I could come up with was that the setting the school was in was beautiful and looked amazing, with doesn't really help with summing up the film...
Die hard Simon Pegg/Nick Frost fans will probably like it, but, I think it's a film that you won't miss anything if you don't bother with it.

I’ve never heard of Droodles until the moment I got this in my hands and I will say this was a humorous read! I enjoyed every moment of it and laughed hysterically. This compendium was a wonderful collection of these witty and clever doodles that allows the reader to leaf through, picking and choosing which Droodles to look at.
If you have ever wondered what was funny in the 50’s and 60’s, then this compendium is a perfect representation! Some of the explanations after certain comics explained a social and/or political situation that was going on back in that era but with a bit of flair. The comedy within the pages of this book are not only mild and amusing, but some also lacked in my opinion. All in all, the comics were entertaining and many contained multiple of different ways to interpret them.
