Anna Steele (111 KP) rated Matched (Matched #1) in Books

Will she, won’t she, who cares
I’ve read a lot of dystopian society and this one didn’t do it for me. Granted, I read it a while ago, but it’s always stuck with me as a flop for the genre. The world isn’t compelling and the main conflict is which boy do I want to be with: mystery or certainty.

Melanie Dickerson has created yet another story that any fantasy romance reader will love. As with her other stories this one follows a girl who has to help her love.

KarenRC (6 KP) rated Haven (Rebecca Filmore Series, #1) in Books
Jul 23, 2018
This is one of those books that grabs you from the first few pages and you can't stop reading. The story was well written, using the different character perspectives to narrate the action. I am hoping that this is the start of a compelling series starring Becky and well done to Victoria for such a good job on her debut novel.
Erika (17788 KP) rated 1917 (2020) in Movies

1917 was immersive and engrossing the entire time. I had watched @They Shall Not Grow Old (2018) in preparation, and it really rounded out my experience watching 1917. It was beautifully shot, compelling, and I'll probably go see it again. I'm glad more films are being made about the Great War.
It deserved the Golden Globe, and it'll deserve every Oscar it wins.
