Karin Furnell (1 KP) rated A Court of Thorns and Roses in Books

The Story is Compelling (2 more)
Well Written Novel
Strong Female Main Character
Start of an amazing series
This book is a little Beauty and the Beast-esque, which makes me love it all the more.
Especially as Belle is my favourite Disney Princess!
The main character is a strong female who overcomes many challenges, she certainly can't be seen as weak or a damsel in distress.
Highly recommend this YA series to anyone that enjoys fantasy, it is possibly a bit graphic for younger readers though.

It really does affect you (especially if you have a small child!) (2 more)
The 'dilemma' is plausible, if very frustrating to watch
The mechanics of the dilemma play out in a way that has you utterly engaged
Plot holes all over the place, and seemingly irrelevant scenes (3 more)
The terrible decision making of the lead role and lack of urgency at times is unrealistic
Is that a Land Rover Discovery in disguise?
This movie will stress you out!
Utterly desperate and stressful to watch, although strangely compelling

A sweeping adventure that pulls you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat through each page. The world building is phenomenal and the characters are mysterious and compelling in their own rights. Lovers of fantasy and adventure will enjoy the new world Vickers has built.
My only downside is at some points it feels drawn out and you wish to just jump back to the action. Take heart that it does get easier and one just has to stick through the slower pieces.

The start of this show I really enjoyed, i found it captivating and compelling. It was interesting to see how these men were living on their journey and bits of their back story. Things turn bad for the man ad the show carries on and it seems to reach a high point. And then from there I thought it became slow, boring and tedious. It was a shame because of how well it had started. By the last episode I wasn't in any rush to watch it.
