This is the first FF romance by Katherine McIntyre I have read, and it's a contemporary! I make no bones about preferring MM and Paranormal, but it's Katherine McIntyre!!! I had no choice, honest! And speaking of honesty, that's what I got. An honest and thoughtful, sweet and sexy, story that also proves women are just as bad at communicating as men are.
I enjoyed the parallels between their story and the current state of affairs in my world, with it enhancing the story without shoving the similarities down my throat.
The world- and character-building are just what I would expect from a KM book. I am left with the warm and fuzzies from this book, and also left wanting the next in the series. A great read I have no hesitation in recommending.

This time we focus on Tom and Nick. Tom is the skipper of the Aphrodite and Nick is a deckhand who disappeared without a word, leaving Tom to his all-too-frequent thoughts of Nick. Tom starts off harsh with Nick when he reappears in his life, but you can understand it. However, from snippets you get from Nick before Tom shuts him up, you realise that something is... not wrong with Nick, but different. When it is just the two of them, Nick shows Tom a different side to him, which impresses Tom for a number of reasons.
I loved the slow burn of this book, even though things get a bit steamy quickly. Trust me, if you read the book, it does make sense. The different settings are all gorgeous and described to perfection. Even if you've never been to any of the places mentioned, you will be able to visualise them easily.
The epilogue was perfect, both for the story and for Tom and Nick themselves. This is a well-written contemporary romance, rich with information and details that present them to you in a way that will keep you turning the pages. Definitely recommended by me.

Unfortunately for her, one of those students is her old best friend, who also broke her heart when she was thirteen. Now, Parker can hold a grudge and hold it well. However, she also has to grow up herself, as she deals with situations beyond her current comprehension and also has that painful lesson to learn that she is not the most important person of all, even if she is blind, and the world does not revolve around her.
With a smidge of romance thrown in for good measure, this is a well-told story about a girl maturing into herself, and the strength of friendships.
There is a bit of braille at the end which, according to Virginia on Goodreads, are simply two more rules:
Rule #11:
Don't worry that I won't give you any second chances. I will. I might even need some from you.
Rule #12:
Don't jump to conclusions. You and me both, but mostly me.

Carter and Meg are made for each other; they just don't realise it at first as they are both carrying past hurts with them. It takes a horse-shaped cupid by the name of D'Artagnan to bring them together as they both want what's best for him.
There is a whole lot going on in this book and it isn't all romance. You have a mother with her own agenda, betrayal, mystery, rehabilitation, a slightly-lost younger brother, and a rocking grandpa that I want to have lunch with!
I've only ever read this author's fantasy works, but I'm happy to say she knocks contemporary out of the park too. A real page-turner that had me enthralled. Highly recommended by me.
