Will the Accidental Detectives Find the Pirate Treasure?
Ricky, his brother Joel, and their friends are off to San Diego to help Lisa’s uncle paint his new house. When they arrive, they learn a local legend about a pirate who has buried his treasure in the area. It sounds crazy until Joel finds a couple of silver coins. Meanwhile, Lisa’s uncle is acting strangely. Can Ricky figure out everything that is going on?

I’ve read this book a couple of times now, although it’s been over a decade since the last time I read it, so pieces of the plot came back to me as I was reading. Even so, I was still blown away by how well plotted the book is, with all the clues needed in very plain sight. The characters are strong as well, and they provide some wonderful laughs along the way. The Christian elements is woven in seamlessly and never overwhelms this plot driven middle grade book.

CD Reiss has destroyed me yet again in this incredible book.
WOW, what an ending!? CD Reiss has destroyed me yet again in this incredible book.

In Girl on the Edge, we meet Caden and Greyson, a military couple, having found each other during the harsh realities of war. After returning home to New York to try and start a life as a married couple, everything begins to change, testing the limits of even the most hardened soldier. Watching these two fight for each other without limits, again and again, was beautiful and heartbreaking. Their commitment, strength and undying love overflowed from the pages and I was crushed at every obstacle they endured and my heart swelled with each step forward. Highly recommended author and book - I've been a fan of Christine's for years and she always finds some new creative twist and Girl of the Edge was no different! War, love and just the right amount of CD Reiss-style sass.. ;-)

First few series were great, storylines were good. Lots of suspense and characters with interesting back stories. This series offers great gore and horror along the way, they are also not frightened at killing off main characters even ones which the fans have come to love.
Negan was a breath of fresh air and even though he's a baddie he's funny and a character you come to like. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is a great actor and brings good fun to the show.
The last couple of series however have become a bit boring and dragged out. There are a couple of standout episodes in them but otherwise I found them getting a bit boring and wonder if the show is coming to a close now on where to go. Would recommend to others still as the graphics and creative work on them is fantastic.

The Karate Kid, Part III (1989)
The Karate Kid, Part III (1989)
1989 | Action, Drama, Family
Recently, Netflix has released series 3 of The Karate Kid spin-off/continuation (as it stars a now grown-up Ralph Macchio and William Zabka) 'Cobra Kai'.

A couple of the episodes in said series have linked back to The Karate Kid Part 2, which I'd watched prior to starting that particular series after it was teased towards the end of series 2. I suppose I should have known, therefore, that there would have been a couple of teases/callbacks/references made to The Karate Kid Part 3 (which I'd never seen), particularly in the storyline in which Daniel LaRusso's daughter Samantha is traumatised.

I have to say, I found this to be slower and less enjoyable than either Part 1 or Part 2, with a lame romantic subplot, and with Terry Silver in particular a one-note villain, whose brutal karate technique and training drives a wedge between Daniel and Mr Miyagi.

DRAGON'S MATE VOLUME ONE: BOOKS 1-3 introduces us to the world of dragons, gargoyles, and witches, where liking someone of the same sex isn't a problem... unless you're part of the wrong clan.

With three full-length novels plus a Christmas novella that ties up those three stories nicely, there is plenty here to enjoy. Each couple became my favourite and each time, I was convinced no one could topple the couple before.

I really hope Glimmer gets his own story, and Alfie finds his way to the Hoskins! I am invested in these characters and the world they live in, and I can't wait to read more.

If you like Dragons, then you will absolutely enjoy this box set. Definitely recommended by me.
