Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2488 KP) rated Murder for Choir (Glee Club, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Paige Marshall has taken a job coaching a show choir until her big break singing opera comes through. But when a rival coach is murdered, she starts trying to clear one of her students of the crime. The book is fun with great characters, fast moving plot, and gentle humor woven in. Paige took a couple more risks than I felt like she should have, but I enjoyed it and definitely plan to read the sequel.

Heather Buchanan (0 KP) rated Wish - Shopping Made Fun in Apps
Mar 22, 2018
I have shopped on wish on several occasions. One thing I do love is if you are unhappy with a product or you do not receive your product with will refund your money. I have received a few good items. Most of it is low quality. The jewelry is mostly fake and flakes and looks terrible after wearing it a couple times. The makeup is a hit or miss and the clothing is not true to size. Shipping takes several weeks to several months. Overall okay. Just remember you get what you pay for

True to the feel of the book, even with changes
Good actor choices
Good pace throughout
So good I've seen it twice...
Absolutely loved this film. Saw it and immediately wanted to watch it again - so wen't back a couple days later and experienced it in 4DX. I really don't have a bad word to say about it. Even if you weren't focusing on the nostalgia bits, it's a fantastic tale translated to the big screen incredibly well. Would be a great note on which to end Spielberg's career if he is starting to think about that
Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2488 KP) rated Stamped Out (A Stamping Sisters Mystery, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
April has returned home to work for her father. But the discovery of a skull in an old construction site makes him the prime suspect in a 10 year old murder. Can April figure out what really happened all those years ago? The plot was painfully slow here with a couple of sub-plots taking prominence. Worse yet, I didn't like the majority of the characters, especially April. I won't be reading any more in the series.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2488 KP) rated The End Game (Burn Notice, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Michael is hired to find a kidnapped wife and daughter of the man who will be piloting the family yacht during a race. If he thought that was easy, however, he discovers he's in way over his head as he starts digging deeper. A great entry that captures the characters and pace of the series. There were a couple leaps that I had to fully think about to get, but that could just be me.

MissCagey (2652 KP) rated Ocean’s 8 (2018) in Movies

Aw, I watched this in the cinema yesterday and was quite disappointed. I wasn't bored, I sat and watched like a good girl and was entertained enough not to yawn but this was not the funny romp I thought it would be. I love Sandra Bullock, I think she has great comedic timing but this film didn't give her any good lines, I smiled only a couple of times throughout the whole film. The cast should have been inspiring but they were all pretty bland and insipid, Anne Hathaway by far had the best part in this film and surprisingly outshone the others.
Kristin (149 KP) rated Strange Little Girls in Books
Dec 7, 2018
Disclaimer: I received an e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
The title definitely doesn't lie -- these are some STRANGE little girls. Each story is so different from the last, and they all suck you in and don't let up until the end. There are even a couple I could see being turned into at least a novella on their own, as I would love to read more about that particular girl's story.
Really interesting read, and since it's a collection of short stories, you can read a little bit at a time and not forget where you are.

Erika (17789 KP) rated Cat Quest in Apps
Jul 24, 2018 (Updated Jul 24, 2018)
I was able to purchase this app after winning the Google Play App giveaway here on Smashbomb.
My brother saw this game on his Nintendo Switch a couple of months ago, and since he sent me the name, I'd wanted to download it. Luckily, with the giveaway win, I was able to.
Cat Quest is a fun, cute RPG, where you play as a cat that goes on quests, defeats monsters, and learns magic. It's easy to play, and to level up to get some serious questing done. Overall, I love this game, and will continue playing it every day.

cool concept (2 more)
lovely art
fun game to start out
game outcome can be predicted early on (1 more)
Games get tedious when you have played a couple of times.
I loved this game when it first came out, it really reminded me of munchkin. Unfortunately it shares the same flaw as munchkin, the games get very tedious when you know what you are doing, and the game is predictable from very close to the start. I would recommend this if you constantly are playing with new people, but if you play in a regular group give it a miss.
