"The first Bowie album I got into and still my favourite just because it’s got so many good songs. It’s quite a long album, and he went so many different places afterwards, but that kind of version of him is the one I can most identify with. It’s almost like a greatest hits in itself with an unbelievable number of proper classics on it! One of my favourite ones is 'Kooks', which is about having a kid and being a couple of kooky and alternative parents and wondering how the fuck you’re going to bring it up."

"Dirty and loud, this film put a face to the music that represented the ultimate freedom from the suburbs. Pre-YouTube, footage of these bands was super hard to come by. There were only a couple videotapes floating around… and once in a while, you could see something truly outré on “120 Minutes”… but in truth, if you weren’t in LA/NY/DC, you missed out on most of the scene. Like water to the desert, Penelope Spheeris’s film brought the culture into our lives. And shortly thereafter, I had myself a hideous painted leather jacket — just like Darby Crash."

Milo and Rosabella have moved to France to a gorgeous mansion. Rosabella feels like she's been here before and it's not long before the mansion starts showing her it's history.

An utterly captivating story it really does seem to pull you into it. I enjoyed the style of writing but I will be honest and say with the internal battles I got a bit confused between Ro/Jo a couple of times.
The description of the mansion and its grounds aswell as the town simply breathtaking.
I did not expect the ending at all absolutly fantastic

4/5 truly captivating

Three semi-related stories about India show us the less seemly side of the country. The prose is lush yet simple, and the characters well drawn. Moreover, it is obvious that Theroux both knows and loves India and everything that the characters go through seem realistic and authentic. The couple who are drawn to the spa and its employees, the businessman who tries, but cannot ignore the seedier side of the city and the young woman staying at an ashram trying to escape her life.

While it drags a touch in places, overall an interesting book - but not his finest.

I'm slowly working my way through my oldest Kindle books to my newest and this was the first in line.

DNF @ 58%

I stopped at the start of Chapter 13, after reading that first paragraph. How could the author do that? I like happy endings! I want the couple to get together and be happy!?

I wasn't exactly pulled in before then but that bit did me in. I was rooting for Chase and Harper FFS! I was never Team Brandon and I can see where the stories going to go and I'm not impressed, therefore I'm not going to finish it.

3.5 stars.

The beginning bit confused me quite a bit but when the story started properly, I got pulled into it. I loved Fin. I loved them together as a couple, though Ellie was a little dense in parts to realise what I figured from before the half way mark--that Fin wanted her as more than just a conquest.

Some bits I wasn't so fond of but I think because of Fin, I'll raise the rating half a star.

BTW my last status update should be ignored entirely. Ellie only thought she'd broken up with Fin.

Marvel Legendary: Into the Cosmos
2020 | Card Game, Game Expansion, Science Fiction
The return of Shards was very welcome. Adds a new dimension of tactics to the game. (3 more)
Into the Cosmos has some cool schemes and Masterminds, Magus being our favorite.
Some of the best Villains ever, especially the Celestials. This expansion is almost worth getting for these alone.
A couple of cool heroes which makes use of the Shards in a new way.
Some of the new mechanics are fiddly and quite frankly boring. (1 more)
The Shard tokens are not the best quality, but that is easily remedied by using something else.

Rainbow Rowell | 2016 | Young Adult (YA)
Okay, this book is just heartbreaking. Absolutely and positively heartbreaking.Eleanor and Parks relationship is just, the only world I can think of to describe it is, adorable. It just has cuteness about it. It didn't end at all how I expected to, but I like that, although I would have liked to have heard more about what happened to her Mom and her siblings in the end, maybe a couple of more chapters. I'm afraid it lost a star for her being a little mean to the cat, I can't help it I'm a little cat crazy.....
