Merissa (13856 KP) rated Orbit: A Lunar Wolves Novella in Books
Jul 4, 2023
ORBIT is a Lunar Wolves Novella - it says so in the title. It is also the first book I have read in this series or by the author. I was told I wouldn't need to read the series to enjoy this book but I'm afraid I think that was wrong.
This is a short novella and, for me, you really didn't learn anything about the world or the characters so having some knowledge would have been helpful. Callum and Vaughan were a cute couple but also a paradox. On the one hand, they communicated nicely. Callum, in particular, helped Vaughan with his social anxiety. But then, on the other, neither of them talks when there's a problem, which I found odd, especially when it could be linked to said social anxiety.
The ending is quite abrupt. I'm guessing we will see more of them in future books but, as a novella, it's more of a meet-cute and not much more.
A good read but I would definitely recommend reading the series.

IT's cute and fun, steamy and smexy!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
Danny's ex left a box of toys. Danny isn't quite sure what to do with them, so he approaches said ex's best friend to see if he knows who they might belong to. Will just wants a quiet night, but spending time with Danny will do. Then Danny springs his dilemma on him and Will makes his mind up to help Danny.
What I did not like about this book was that it was short! Short on page space: only 90 odd pages and short on time: whole book takes place over couple days.
What I loved about this was it was short! Contradictory, I know! I loved that we get this short burst, because I really don't think it would've worked as a longer book. But I still didn't like that it was short, as I wanted more of Danny and Will!
It's cute, it's funny, it's steamy and smexy but it carries some emotion too. Especially for Danny finding out about his ex and about said ex was doing. Will was shocked by his so called best friend!
A thoroughly enjoyable 4 star read.

Pixar do it again!
A very good and enjoyable film that all ages will love. The story sounded odd at first but it's a very cute film. It has a great 10 minute opening which is nearly silent and quite sad for a Pixar film. Once we get to the old guy getting up out of bed and setting off to fulfill a promise it actually becomes quite funny in places. Definitely one all ages will love. Once again the level of detail in the animation is amazing, they seem to set new levels with each new film!
Erika (17789 KP) rated Penelope (2006) in Movies

I have a lot of favorite movies, often when I describe a movie, if I loved it, I describe it as my favorite. My friend pointed that out a few years ago when I was telling her about this movie, and it made me think.
This movie is legitimately one of my top ten favorite movies.
Penelope is a modern, cute fairy tale about Penelope, who happens to have a pig nose because of a curse.
This movie has a ton of random actors in it: Christina Ricci is the title character. Youngish James McAvoy (<3), Reese Witherspoon, and Peter Dinklage.

graveyardgremlin (7194 KP) rated A Christmas Baby (Rogues Club, #4) in Books

A nice close to the Rogue series, if, and I hate be redundant, a bit unoriginal. The characters were nice, there were some funny moments, and the plot was good, but it didn't touch me like other romances do. However, I did like the whole Christmas thing at the end, it was cute if rather saccharine.
One of my main problems was that this series must have the worst editors. In all four books there are missing quotation marks, sentences that aren't clear, and misspelled/or forgotten words. I would hope that these would be minimal.

graveyardgremlin (7194 KP) rated The Sunnydale High Yearbook (Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Season 3, #24) in Books
Feb 15, 2019
A cute look-back at not only graduating year, but the first three seasons the Scooby Gang (known as Slayerettes early in the series) spent at Sunnydale High (R.I.P.). There are different categories dedicated to student life (activities, clubs, sport, etc.), the faculty, an actual (smallish) yearbook picture section, a memorial for both students and staff who've lost their lives, and more, plus two eight-page sections featuring full-color pictures of the stars and letters from both the mayor and, even better, ol' Ratface himself, Principal Snyder. A fun little memento for anyone who loves BtVS.

I as saying it is alright - I have only just started playing it though, The main character is a small mouse which is quite cute but and here is the big but, you have to collect stars to carry out quests in order to carry on with the story just like many others, in this case the maximum level of stars you can obtain per level is 3 but so far the minimum number of stars neeed to fulfill a task is 7, so work that out. Will see how it progresses before I get too bored.

Didn't Match Up
This book is about first love, and having a physical relationship for the first time. Normally I enjoy cute love stories, but this was a little flat. The topic and themes were solidly YA, but the writing style is more middle grade. This made the characters come across as younger than what they were. I think if the book had focused more on the emotional aspects of their relationship it would have been better. Unfortunately it was mostly about their sex life. The one up side is that the book did put a lot of emphasis on safe sex.
Auburn (57 KP) rated The New Guy (and Other Senior Year Distractions) in Books
Apr 10, 2019
I would rate this a solid good. Mediocre but enjoyable.
Jules is your non average high school senior. Focusing only on getting into Brown and the newspaper. That is until the new guy, a former boy band singer, comes to school. Now she must decide what is more important. With a lot of problems, misteps, and mistakes Jules must learn what it means to be a good friend and a team player.
While I enjoyed the premise and the cute couples I found myself skimming to get to the end faster.
Perfect for those who want a lot of drama with their stories.
