The actors are well suited for their characters. (1 more)
Show stayed true to film noir through all 8 episodes.
The first two episodes were shown in the preview. (1 more)
Season was so short there was very little character development.
Film Noir Style Humor
This genre is my favorite, and very few movies or shows are successful at the dry, dark humor without giving up the true macabre nature of the subject. The teens that played the main characters are excellent, as are the two women that play the main detective constables.
I do wish there had been more character development. We know quite a bit about the kids by the end of the 8 episodes (roughly 20-25 minutes per episode), but we are only given a wisp of information about the detective constables relationship. This was very similar to how I felt about the end of Stranger Things season 1.

Dark Humor with a Satisfying Twist
The Twist that Hits Harder than Any Punch
Fight Club is a classic at this point, itself a riveting adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's also classic novel. The first time you watch it, the twist hits harder than any punch thrown in the movie. The second time you watch it, it's fun to try and catch all the signs pointing to the twist. It's crazy good, mostly driven by Edward Norton and Brad Pitt's strangely powerful bro chemistry and director David Fincher's excellent vision. It is understandable that the casual movie-goer may be turned off by Fight Club however, as it is dark and a bit too nihilistic in places for its own good.

I was blown away by this show. I don't usually "binge" series, but I had this one done in two days and couldn't stop.
The humor permeates the whole show, sometimes up front, sometimes subtle.
The diverse cast did a fantastic job. The ending of the last episode was mind boggling.
It has an excellent main plot as well as a very engaging B and C plot.
It really maintains a real feeling of love and positive feeling for a place even if there are lots of dark things going on.
You have to watch it.

I loved how this was horror and still had some dark humor to it. The characters and plot were amazing.. I love horror but it's always hard to find a really well written horror story and this one was definently well written. I loved that it kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to know what was going to happen and I felt like I had to keep reading until it was finished. I am very glad the author chose me to read this and I cannot wait to read more by this author. Amazing

Fun
This semi-dark, comedic drama was better than expected. It had some decent(although at times cheesy)humor, light dramatic stories(also with their fair share of cheesiness) and good cinematography which all blended well together. The story, while somewhat predictable, played out well and was reminiscent of the old show. Of course, in true Hollywood fashion, they left it open for a possible sequel. Overall this was an entertaining movie that doesn't really expect you take it too seriously I'm not sure why it's listed as a "horror" though-NOT scary. Even the kids could enjoy it. Worth a watch.

Fun send up of film noir in pulp literature and los angeles culture in a frozen celluloid time capsule
Set in a decade where the comedy and homages work in todays modern popular culture. This unlikely pair lead the story in an unconventional take on the buddy cop/comedy as they work in opposition to each other to solve a dark crime, with a seedy leadup, all the while surrounded by the city of hollywood and its movie star culture. Something out of the pages of a detective fiction magazine. Post modern film noir in a brighter reflection of itself

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
I really, really loved this book. I have a thing for kids books that don't treat their audience like they need to be spoon-fed.
The story starts with Lan and their family going to the planet Choom after being in a sleep for decades.
Unfortunately the government has changed and the Hunan's are no longer welcome.
What happens next is an very well written story of xenophobia and the friendships with the aliens.
There's some pretty dark humor which I'm all about. I really enjoyed Lan and Marfs relationship!

Long Time Favorite
This movie is amazing. Mainly because the cast is made up of some of the most talented actors ever and they all play off of each other so well. One of the best ensemble casts ever assembled in my opinion. Tim Curry, Christopher Lloyd, Madeline Kahn, etc.
The storyline is maybe a tad dramatic and silly but it just adds to the charm and the humor. The humor is on the dark side which is the best kind. There are some amazing one liners and jokes.
When i first became familiar with this movie we had it on dvd and were able to watch all three endings. Sometimes when it's shown on tv, they only show one ending for time purposes and in my opinion you really use out when you view it that way. Having said that, because of the way the film was shot, none of the endings actually work. This is maybe the only negative thing I really have to say about it.

Much better than I anticipated
When I first heard about "The Hunt" I didn't have much interest in it. I like most of the movies that Blumhouse produces, so I intended to go see it, but I didn't expect much.
The concept - liberal elites trying to hunt and kill conservative "deplorables" - seemed ripe for one-sided over-politicization. I expected to see the liberals shown in a better light than the conservatives for sure.
Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to find a no-holds-barred, skewer-every-perspective story that used every stereotype to good effect.
I won't go into spoilers, but I will say this: 20 minutes in, I knew that my expectations had been subverted. People died quickly that I didn't anticipate. The humor, which is pitch black, caught me off guard and I found myself laughing out loud several times. And the plot shifted in ways I never would have predicted.
All in all, it's a quick, fun, funny, violent, profanity-laced ride that I am glad I took.
