The Marinated Meeple (1853 KP) rated Deadpool 2 (2018) in Movies
May 23, 2018
comedic lines (3 more)
very quotable
call backs to other Xmen, including Logan
the after credits scenes
Good rauchy comedy, with some decent action and a lot of gore.
We went to dinner afterwards and spent 20 minutes quoting lines back that we thought were very funny. If you liked the first one this is more of the same.
Liz (3 KP) rated The Lies of Locke Lamora in Books
Jan 31, 2019
I would say this reminded me of Game of Thrones with a heist element and less sex, but about the same amount of violence and death. I enjoyed the world building, mystery, characters, pretty much everything! Looking forward to the sequel, but I know I'll be re-reading this one sometime this year before then.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2498 KP) rated The Second Death Of Goodluck Tinubu (Detective Kubu, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
A murdered man in northern Botswana turns out to have died years before during a war. How was he still alive? And why was he murdered now? A bit long winded at times, but most everything proved important during the climax.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2498 KP) rated Puzzled to Death (Puzzle Lady #3) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When Cora gets tricked into hosting a charity crossword puzzle competition, she worries her secret might come out. However, she has other concerns when a body drops. Another fun book, although the rushed ending wasn't as strong as it could have been.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2498 KP) rated Blood Matters (Roxanne Prescott, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When adoption guru Sam Brennan is found bludgeoned to death in his house, it starts San Diego Sheriff Department detective Roxanne Prescott on a trail of long hidden secrets. The plot was uneven and really seemed to slow down in second half.

Bookapotamus (289 KP) rated Mug Shot (A Java Jive Mystery, #2) in Books
May 29, 2018
I received this book for free as part of a Chat Pack from Chatterbox™ in exchange for my honest review and I really liked this book. The Java Jive series is fun and refreshing and a quick read. I read her first book in the series, Death by Decaf, and I can't wait to read the next book later this year.
Gaby (5 KP) rated Riverdale - Season 1 in TV
Jun 23, 2018
The suspense and drama of this show will keep you at the edge of your feet wanting more. With death at every turn, mob bosses plotting against them, and a biker club causing trouble it's hard for Archie, Veronica, Betty and Jughead to get through high school like normal teens. And yes there is some romance brewing within the inner circle.
Hayley (16 KP) rated Bronco by Canaan Smith in Music
Aug 13, 2018
This is Canaan's debut album from 2015 and includes his #1 hit Love You Like That and third single Hole In A Bottle. The title track is about the death of his oldest brother.
I love this album and him in general. None of these songs have gotten old and I usually listen to this album at least weekly; if not daily.

Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated William Shakespeare's Jedi the Last: Star Wars Part the Eighth in Books
Dec 30, 2019
These books are so much fun! I love the character translations and the characters dialogue and the hilarious easter eggs.
TLJ was not my favorite but this book brought a spark that I didn't really appreciate in the film proper.
It's just...we could have Luke's heart-wrenching reaction to Hans death and we got nipples?
Anyway, I loved the book.
