Overall, I loved this book. I loved the nostalgia, and the friendship between the two main characters. The book was sufficiently creepy (the tapeworm thing has stuck with me for DAYS), and entertaining.
BUT, the reason I cannot give it a 10 is simply because the book never explains why Gretchen was initially possessed. What did she do to invite the demon in? It was slightly disappointing.

Well done
This horror movie actually fits the description. The acting was great and the cinematography/effects were very well done. This one has LOTS of creep factor. Pay attention or you'll miss little details. This is a really good demon possession story with lots of dark energy. The story moved along at a nice steady pace and delivered a very intense climactic exorcism scene. This one is really worth a watch!
