Chayu (810 KP) rated Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988) in Movies

Very bad sequel
No complains about special effects, because it is an old movie. The movie is watchable, but it is too predictable. We do get to meet a new interesting character - a girl who can solve puzzles, and we also get to see the human side of demons, and that's about it. Everything else is either boring, not scary, or plain stupid.

Fun low budget horror
Not to be confused with the 80's film of the same name. Fairly run of the mill Horror as a few friends attend a Halloween party in a derelict house in New Orleans.
The make up effects were very good and the soundtrack was decent. One if you are in a Halloween theme mood.

Subtle but brilliant
A brilliant samurai drama/romance that has some quality katana (sword) action.
We follow the path of Munezo, a samurai of a rural clan set in the early 1860's. Whilst Japan is changing with the times, Munezo show us how crucial his qualities of loyalty, respect, courage and self control and really are. Although not all of the Samurai are as moral as himself, Munezo has the fortitude to carry out his duties by his own standards. The relationship between Munezo and his once house keeper Kei is a beautiful and subtle thing, showing the world of film that kissing and sex scenes are unnecessary. The action scenes are intense and emotionally complex. And then there's the Demons Claw but, I'll let you find out about that yourself..... Enjoy.

I liked it, just not as much as the previous books. Don't get me wrong, I love this series. Lon and Cady together as a couple is genius. Jupe is cool. The demons and world these guys live in is really thought out.
I just had one issue with it and that was the spell they used on Cady. It felt a lot like reliving the last 3 and a half books all over again with her not remembering the relationship with Lon and sort of falling for him all over again
The ending also wasn't as in-your-face/kill-that-biatch intense as I was expecting but I'm so glad that Cady managed to overcome her demons.

I have to mention the epilogue! I loved it! The way the author wrote it... *sigh* I wish there was going to be more.

Oprah's role in season two shows her amazing acting ability as she succumbs to her inner demons (1 more)
Every episode leaves you wanting more
The second season is even better than the first!
Season two drew me in just like season one. Each episode was better than the last and the season finale ends with a horrible confrontation that makes you wish they would hurry up and get season three started!

Vampires, witches and demons
This was a book that had me hooked from the first page, I loved the adventure and mystery that unveiled itself. It also gave me in insight into alchemy, something that had not particularly interested me until reading this book... and it definitely helped I’m the lead up to Shadow of Night (the second and my favourite of the All Souls Trilogy).
King is the master of phantasmagorical horror and his sales verify his number one place amongst authors of the genre. This is the story of a group of youngsters who each have an encounter with Pennywise the Clown, an evil, malevolent being that feeds on the fears of children. Their friendship pact brings them together thirty years later to confront their demons and end their battle with ‘IT’. A great read.

I received a copy of Soul of the Sword from Harlequin TEEN (US Canada) through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book was superb. It has everything! Ghosts, demons, and forbidden romance.
I really enjoyed the mythology and the characters.
It's the second book in the series but I had no problem following what was going on.
I am Really looking forward to the third book!

I haven't read this book in over 10 years but it's one of those that sticks with you. There is another book that goes with it called "Piercing The Darkness". Both are amazing books about spiritual warfare. Even if you are not a Christian I think you'd still like this book. It is full of action that has battles between angels and demons and a good story to it.
