I don't understand why though as this is a really good film. The animation is superb, which shouldn't be a surprise considering it's Disney and Pixar, but it's still a marvel to watch. The amazing detail and vibrant colours. The story itself is interesting although maybe a tad predictable in places, I didn't feel as though there was as much humour as there usually is in a Disney/Pixar film. But Miguel is such a likeable protagonist and Dante the dog is pretty loveable too, but I wanted more from him! It had me almost wanting to dance in my seat at times and then towards the end I was really struggling not to shed a tear. It's an emotional story and a very good one at that. It might not be my favourite of Pixar films, but it's definitely fairly high on the list. It's just a shame it may not reach as many people as it should.

So I watched it a second time with my newborn daughter (she likes musicals and I had nothing else in the house). She fell asleep instantly but that's beside the point. The second time watching I started to enjpy the music a little bit more, the transitions were terrible but the music itself wasn't bad. The acting also didnt seem as bad though I began to notice that Will Smith overshadowed the main characters as his acting alone read to be far superior. He dominated majority of the scenes, which wasn't a bad thing as he seemed to be the only one going above and beyond.
However I'm sad to say that even as the film proves to grow on you little by little I'd still have to say that it read to be more of a Disney Channel Movie rather than an actual Big Picture Film. Certainly didn't hold to the quality or standard that Disney demands of it's Main Features, especially one of the one's meant to be a part of their Princess Film Collection.

This movie is great and is better from the first one, coming off the first one, this one has more action, comedy, adventure and overall a better plot and a excellent villian.
The Plot: When ghostly pirate Davy Jones (Bill Nighy) comes to collect a blood debt, Capt. Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) must find a way to avoid his fate lest his soul be damned for all time. Nevertheless, the wily ghost manages to interrupt the wedding plans of Jack's friends Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley).
Bill Nighy is excellent as Davy Jones, i love the charcter and his haterd against Jack Sparrow.
This film was shot back-to-back with the third film of the series, At World's End.
Its a excellent movie and highly reccordmend it.
