"I have been seeing Caraval featured on so many blogs and instagram accounts, I couldn't just not read it. I've read, “A MUST READ”, so many times; I knew I had to get my hands on it...

And I loved it! LOVE, LOVES, LOVED IT!

It was everything a book should be: fun, diverse characters; steady plot; twist and turns (let me tell you, there were so many twists- I got dizzy); romance; suspense; adventure! I read this book in one sitting; only stopping to use the bathroom once and another time to grab a quick snack (a handful of pink Starbursts). It was that good." This book solidified my decision to never read a modern YA book ever again.
The synopsis sounded great, I was anticipating this book before it was even released.

I could have lived my entire life without reading this book. If the main character Nax was more interested in solving the problems at hand, and not who he was going to get off with, it would have cut probably 50 pages out. I felt like the entire focus was on that, rather than the cool plot the synopsis promised. The characters various back stories just seemed to be there for a checklist of 'See, look, I'm a diverse writer'. Gag me with a spoon.

Better than Expected!
Ok. So I heard all of the negativity surrounding this film before I went to go see it. So I had very low expectations for this film. I can easily say I was pleasantly surprised. This movie had me on the edge of my seat for a lot of the film and I actually cared about a lot of the characters. I think this movie was the scariest of any of the Jurassic films so far and that director J.A. Bayona is a previous Horror director and it really comes out in this film. There are definitely some really interesting and diverse shots in this film. Go see this for the fun and the thrills!

The Perfect Travelling Companion
This book is laugh out loud funny filled with interesting historical stories as well as up to date information with personal quirky stories thrown into the mix. A well-written travel guide mixing personal adventures with information about places, things to do and see (or not) and gives a true impression of the expanse of this enormous country!

As a traveller with a 3 week trip booked later this year, this truly was a fantastic read to offer insight into a unknown world (for me!). Who knew their political system was so complex? Or their history so diverse? Let the adventures commence !
