Edi and Ash have been best friends since childhood. When Edi is diagnosed with terminal cancer, Ash offers to take her home to where she lives, so that her young son doesn’t have to watch her final weeks.
The hospice that Edi stays in is full of interesting characters: from the patient who plays Fiddler on the Roof at full glorious volume, to the doctor who reminds Ash of one of the Sopranos, and a musician who can play any song you request.
This is a book of laughter and sadness, of letting go and moving on. Ash is a wonderful friend with a rather messy, frankly hilarious, sex life. Ash and Eli’s relationship is truly special.
We All Want Impossible Things is a touching novel that had me laughing and crying in equal measure, as well as bringing back memories of my own experiences.
This book really is worth reading. Utterly beautiful.

SLEEPY is the first book that begins the overarching "Psi Powers" story line. Author Kate Orman wastes no time, throwing us right into the deep end of the pool as the book opens! The ride that begins never lets up, providing with well-fleshed out characters and minor characters, as well as providing an intriguing and thought-provoking backstory.
In both the Virgin New Adventures as well as the BBC's Eighth Doctor Adventures, Orman was always favorite of mine, as well as a number of the pre-NuWHO fans. Her characters, goodies and baddies, were always full of depth, giving something than us tropes. The Doctor, regardless of the Incarnation, was treated properly, offering a much better Doctor than the new series has shown us.
The book requires focus when reading. That is, it works better if you can read it in room without distractions (musical film scores playing in the background don't count as a distracting), without anyone trying to talk to you while you're trying to read, i.e. my wife (!). There's some truly heady stuff going on the pages within, and if you ride it out, you will not be disappointed!
In the 61 New Adventures that Virgin Books published from 1991-96, there are several that stand out as cornerstones of the WHO-niverse. SLEEPY is one of those "cornerstones". If you see this out in your travels, perusing a cool used book shop, pick this book up, as it well worth the time!

This story was good. Evangeline has lost everything. The boy she loved moved away to college and then her parents die in a car accident. She didn’t let that stop her from making something of herself. Running away was the only option and changing her name was the first step. Though she is far away from the pain it still gets to her in her dreams. Carter is a doctor with a mission. He knows he can’t save every child’s life but that won’t stop him from trying. He connects to his patients and gets to know them outside of the doctor and patient relationship. Carter’s and Evangeline’s love will test time and change. Will all be forgiven when so much went unsaid? Is 10 years too long to jump right back where they left off? Or will Cole come in and take Carter’s place. I don’t really enjoy love triangles because someone eventually gets hurt. At first I was like ok Cole is the hot teacher that gets her to open up and fall in love again. But then you have Carter who has been looking for his lost love for years. Who do you pick and why them? I was a fan of Coles until he pulled all his shady moves. I liked Carter because he truly loved her and was drowning in misery from the lose of her. I enjoyed their moments in the club together and was shocked that he allowed her to continue with his best friend. The author wrote the characters with back bone and intelligence. I hope to continue reading more from this author.

It's like they didn't know what to do with anyone and the group chemistry was rocky at best. But I'm a sucker for time travel abd super hero shows so I tuned in every week especially since I knew they were going to have tie in episodes with Arrow and The Flash and at the time I watched both shows regularly.
My main problem with the show is you can tell that they wanted to get to certain events but didn't really know how to get there so they had the group kind of stumbled around a space ship.
