Regardless of the subject, and regardless of the level of prior interest you have in it as a viewer, Kapadia’s documentaries are always a must-watch and Diego Maradona is certainly no different. Using previously unseen footage and some fantastically candid interviews, this documentary feels definitive, personal, and crafted with passion. Unmissable.

As documentaries go this one is fantastic I followed Alex for a while before I saw the movie so I knew the outcome. That being said i was still on the edge of my seat. (1 more)
Alex says that solo climbing is as close to perfection as you can get. I truly believed it because if you make the smallest mistake your dead.

The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann
The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann
2019 | Crime, Documentary
This absolutely did not require 8 episodes, which all in all made the documentary feel very bloated, and repetitive in nature. Not all successful documentaries need to be of binge watch proportions. It was interesting to gain insight into those who were working on the case or in the media at the time, but all in all, there is no new information here.

"Another documentary. [Director Errol Morris has] got so many movies that I love and there are so many other documentaries that I love too. But The Thin Blue Line is interesting to choose right now because now there is a resurgence of true crime documentaries — a lot of them [are] series like Making a Murderer or The Jinx. But Thin Blue Line was kind of the original true crime documentary that really sort of made you question police tactics and I think anyone who’s into Making a Murderer or Serial or The Jinx — or any of these shows right now, and podcasts — and hasn’t seen Thin Blue Line should check that out. It’s just a well-made movie in general but it’s also a fascinating story of a crime that someone may or may not have done."

These documentaries can prove to be overwhelming and quite scary, given how bleak these prescient warnings can sound. The film ends on a more positive, upbeat note, calling on the optimism and strength of the younger generation to guide away from disaster

Making A Murderer - Season 1
Making A Murderer - Season 1
2015 | Crime, Documentary
I watch a lot of crime documentaries (even at this very moment), and this series definitely stayed with me. I was determined to be objective with all of the evidence, and yes, this was fairly biased. It was very well done, and completely engrossing.
The only thing that befuddled me is why Avery and Dassey didn't just ask for lawyers from the very start. Whyyyy?

Fascinating
I found this series on Amazon. It's a collection of stories about real historical incidents that took place that sparked the life of some of mankind's legends and myths. Very interesting and thought provoking look into our past as humans and how things(like science and beliefs) have changed over the centuries. With a watch if you are into documentaries told with actors, animation and art!

"Not much to add about Cassavetes, except that Criterion has put together an incredible box set, John Cassavetes: Five Films. There are alternate cuts, interviews, and documentaries, as well as the incredible films. Woman and Opening Night show Gena Rowlands at her best. These films contain performances that will never be matched, but are also structural innovations. I wish I could make movies like this."
