As a big fan of the Beatles I was looking forward to watching this movie. Unfortunately after watching it I was left feeling disappointed. The first half was very good with a lot of funny moments such as Jack finding out what else has changed in the world and the cameo from Ed Sheeran. However what started out as a promising film quickly becomes a predictable rom-com. The best part of this film was the music which includes a lot of the Beatles greatest hits as Jack tries to recreate them himself. Overall I thought this was a fairly standard rom-com that was made better by having a lot of great music.

Overall a very good album..
I have been a fan of Ed Sheeran since I was in high school (before he reached his current popularity). I saw him live at a very small venue in Pittsburgh, way before he was used to singing in huge arenas all around the world. His songs have always been very sweet and heartfelt, and I am glad that this new album did not stray from that despite his new popularity. I also enjoy some of the hip hop aspects of the album, especially like Eraser and New Man. Those two songs are definitely some of his strongest off of the album. I definitely recommend this album to people who have either already loved Ed Sheeran, or want to start!

I found that most of the songs on this album were really good, there were only two or three that I did not like. I love listening to Ed Sheeran and other artist like him and would encourage anyone who hasn't listen to this album yet to listen to it. The mood change from song to song is very interesting.

A Brand New Ed
This album has really impressed me and sort of brought me back to Ed Sheeran's fan base. Admittedly, I'm kind of snobby when it comes to bad language and I kind of hate when artists use bad language unnecessarily (I have three little sisters that don't need to hear that). When Ed Sheeran first broke out, I was in love at first listen, but as time wore on and his foul mouth became a part of every song, I kind of stopped listening or caring. This album I knew was different the moment I heard "Castle on the Hill" and then when I heard an interview with Ed talking about a cab driver who said if there was less cursing in his music he would let his daughter listen to it and how Ed took that to heart, I knew I had to check it out. I've been pleased ever since. This album takes every little good thing about Ed (minus the potty mouth) and turns it into these beautiful, meaningful songs that share new sides to him, and expand on pieces of him we knew were already there. I think Ed is fabulously innovative with music and someone I will always watch out for when new albums drop in the future.

Song obsession of the day: Shape of You - Ed Sheeran

Funny story; In my school, on Fridays, they play music in the cafeteria during lunch. Now, we're allowed to get up, have fun dance, do whatever I tend not to have the most guts in the world, but today when Shape of you played, I was like, "You know what. Forget it" I got up and started dancing. I'm a trained dancer in ballet, but I'm self taught when it comes to other styles. But I didn't care, because IT. FELT. AMAZING. I got so many compliments afterward, and everyone was clapping. I was so hyped up on adrenaline, I even took a bow. So, yeah. No lesson here, I just wanted to share.

"The beats on this are really good. You've got Dirty Danger on there as well and a few other guys. Grime wasn't being lorded at this time, it wasn't glamorous, it wasn't in vogue and that's what I like. You can feel that in these recordings. Today's stuff is still good. I bought Giggs' album the other day, Landlord, that's really good. I was going to buy Stormzy's but after last night at the Brits, I don't know now! I can't believe he went on stage with Ed Sheeran. Call me closed minded but I just thought, mate, what are you doing? He's got a really good flow but he needs to live a bit more for those words to ring true. Even with Skepta's early work you can hear he's hungry for it."

Bloody Gooz Album
It has been sooooo long since I last got a CD. And oh how I have missed it! To my fellow 90s peeps: lyric booklets with art!!!!
I know, you can just Google the words, or watch a lyric version on YouTube, but this is different. Nostalgic. Plus, the art is wonderful. The colour and style is great, works well with the tone of the album and has a great simplicity to it.
Anyway, on to the music. I avoided Ed Sheeran at first, never one to hop on the hype train. But Toot Toot, thus guy does not dissapoint, and this album is no exception.
A great mix of up-beatand catchy songs, with some deep heart breakers to balance it out. It has something for all moods. Listen to it, then go back and listen again. There is wit and tenderness in his words that you do not see too often these days, and in a world of mainstream multiples, this album equals a little bit of diversity. From balards to rap, is there nothing he can't do?
Thanks Ed, and thanks @Smashbomb for my treat xxx

For me, this film was OK. Nothing more. There was some good moments and you cannot fault the tunes. But I felt no real connection with the main character Jack and Ellie. Jack seemed very bland with no charisma. Ellie had more a out her and you felt , strangely, she held something for Jack. What his friends saw in him also I dont know.
But, that aside, the film was an ok watch. Yes, some things just weren't explained like how did 2 other people know about the Beatles and to what actually happened with the black out?
But never the less, the film plodded along and keeps you interested to what happens at the end. Other than that...hmm? Music-film wise, Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman are far, far superior to this.
As for the Ed Sheeran cameo...luckily his song writing is far better than his acting.

If you're into heavy metal then you will find something to enjoy with Metal Lords, a teen comedy/metal love letter from Peter Sollett.
It drags in a few places, and some of the humour doesn't quite land, but it did get a few genuine laughs out of me, and is pretty damn wholesome - there's surprisingly very little musical gate-keeping from any of the characters. The students who are into Ed Sheeran are mostly respectful towards the main characters metal leanings ("Post death metal") and even he appreciates the rival pop band by the time the credits roll. It's a refreshing take on a genre that is rife with elitism.
Other than that, Metal Lords has a banging soundtrack, and some great original music courtesy of the incredibly talented Ramin Djawadi (who is just everywhere these days, and deservedly so).
Metal Lords won't change your life, but it's a fun time. It's pretty much Deathgasm without the gore and demons.

Bad is the latest single from Electric Light, which is the latest studio album by British singer-songwriter James Bay. He took the world by storm in 2014 when his EP Let It Go debuted on the iTunes album top 10.

Since then, he has shared the stage with Ed Sheeran, performed on the Burberry runway, and toured with Hozier: his star is certainly on the rise, while his classic combination of angelic falsetto and crush-worthy good looks will continue to bring adoring new fans to his side. Produced by Dan Wilson, Bad quickly became a fan favorite after a recent US headline tour this spring. It features the melancholic soul of his powerful tenor voice, as well as a stripped-down roots vibe from the rhythm section that leaves the vulnerability intact - we are left with the painful residue of a tough situation.

Bay says of the track:

'I wanted to be honest about some of my own stories and other stories I was being pulled into. Bad is a break up song, it’s just not my break up.'
