Dr Dystopian (526 KP) rated Escape From Tarkov in Video Games
Jan 10, 2018 (Updated Jan 11, 2018)
Not only are the FPS elements realistic and highly challenging but the added element of you keep what you escape with and you lose it all if you die really does make for some nerve wracking gameplay as you seek to either kill are avoid the myriad of other players and NPC's.
Coupled with the FPS is an RPG elements where you can upgrade and improve your characters abilities along side the buying and selling of the parts you escape with to purchase better protective gear, guns and equipment.
The customisation options alone are insane with many weapons having a dozen or more options to improve them and style them to how you want to play as a result the game does have a very steep learning curve but is absolutely worth the effort.
The only "negatives" to this are the fact the game is still in beta and sometimes suffers from lagging and currently has limitations on the map locations available and the current abilities you can unlock.
Easily a recommended game!

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2204 KP) rated The Mystery at Lilac Inn in Books
Jun 6, 2018
The mystery only gets more complex from there, and that’s my biggest complaint with the book. So many different elements are introduced that it becomes overly convoluted and takes the villain explaining everything for the better part of a chapter in the end. Still, all the action does keep the reader glued to the page. The characters are sympathetic enough to make us care about the outcome but are their usual thin selves. Most of the dated elements will be okay, although kids might be thrown by Nancy’s charge plate. I know I was.
AJaneClark (3975 KP) rated Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) in Movies
Dec 13, 2019 (Updated Dec 13, 2019)
Don’t get me wrong, it was enjoyable enough, and i definitely did not hate it. But i found myself rolling my eyes as the same jokes and gags were repeated and rehashed.
With a great cast, you couldn’t help but wish for something more. As before Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Kevin Hart work well together and bring the characters to light. It didn’t hurt that Danny DeVito, Danny Glover and Rory McCann make appearances and bring their own elements of performance to add to the mix.
It was light and funny, my 10 year old most certainly enjoyed the humorous elements, but it was a sequel that could have been a remake of a remake.
