The music is as good as you want it to be. Taron Egerton is fantastic. The storytelling is so good. (0 more)
If you like Elton John or appreciate a good biopic - watch this!

Not as good as the first one but still a bucketload of action and fun. Julianne Moore is fab and Elton John is hilarious (as much as it pains me to say that!)

Fantastic performances across the board and a story that doesn't sugarcoat the early career of Elton John (0 more)
It takes a small while to get used to the weirdness of it all. (0 more)
Succeeds where Bohemian Rhapsody kinda felt short with, this is a fantastic, no holds bar film that perfectly depicts the story of Elton John's early career and his many struggles. The use of John's songs is expertly used to help progress the story and those sequences help make this a feast for the eyes. Taron Egerton shines as Elton.

While I didn't enjoy it as much as the first, the sequel did not disappoint with the laughs and excitement. I recommend this to anyone looking for some mindless fun, great tunes, and entertaining fight scenes.

Rolling Stone's 19th greatest album of all time
Great 70s soft rock album, for me it had a definite Elton John feel about it. Van's voice is a little irritating at times, adding odd Americanisms and flourishes, again similar to Elton's.

The fact that Elton John is the best part with a cast like that! (1 more)
The dog dies 😢
Disappointing, but not terrible

To be fair, the first film left a LOT to live up to if a sequel was ever going to match it. Sadly, even with that in mind, it did not live up to expectations.
Firstly, they kill the dog, which is unforgivable!
The way they brought Harry back was very well done, I was worried that it would be too contrived, but it was clever.
Unfortunately they killed of two of the potentially most interesting characters (and two of my favourites) from the first film, Merlin & Lancelot, which was very disappointing. Would have loved to see Lancelot go toe to toe with the American team.
And Elton John, much as I like him, if he's the best part of a film with actors of the calibre of the other cast members, something has gone very wrong.

"Like other gifted artists who often bring their best to live performances (the Stones, the Who, Billy Joel, Elton John, Tina Turner), the members of U2 create a palpable chain reaction with the audience. (Tied with Billy Joel’s “The Last Play at Shea” documentary.)"

"“Rocketman” was brilliantly executed. The magical surrealism from the first performances align us with what the uber-talented Elton must have been feeling at the Troubadour as he literally got his wings, while taking us from the starting point of how his alienation as a child led to his self-loathing and problems with drinking and drugs. Wrapping layers of glitter and glam around himself like armor to cover the pain created the icon of Elton John we know today."

"There's so much great music. For me, I'd have to say it's a toss up between Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Elton John. I never get tired of listening to them and probably never will… Any album by any of them is bound to be fantastic."
