While I was younger I loved this book but as I got older I found that the writing was not great but it still has a great story
The epic story of Bilbo Baggins was great when ideas a kid as who wouldn't love a quest with dragon dwarves and elves. As I got older I found that the writing wasn't great but I still loved the story and all that it entails

A little slow at first (0 more)
It takes a couple episodes to get rolling, but this show is probably Jonah's best work. His character is schizophrenic, and along with Emma Stone, a defensive girl with a foul mouth, he undergoes a drug trial featuring elves, criminal networks, and animal smuggling to make the world a happier place, because we confront our own issues best when elaborate setups are involved.

Perfection
We get to see more of the eagle race. We get an amazing war scene. There will be rivers of tears flowing. And this is the end. When realization hits, it hits hard. No more lembas, dragons, beautiful elves, partying dwarves, and all the other races that you thought you didn't need in your life, but turned out that you did. And the ending of this movie adds more pain.

My first Dragon love
These are as traditional as epic fantasy gets. If you want to see every trope fantasy has to offer, this is the series for you. This is the very beginning of a world that includes generations of characters, side books to explore the origins of favorite characters and races, role playing games, podcasts, a rich history of world building, gods and magic, dragons and orcs, Dwarfs and elves and other things.

Blood of Elves ( The Witcher 3)
By Andrzej Sapkowski
⭐️⭐️⭐️

For over a century, humans, dwarves, gnomes, and elves have lived together in relative peace. But times have changed, the uneasy peace is over, and now the races are fighting once again. The only good elf, it seems, is a dead elf.

Geralt of Rivia, the cunning assassin known as The Witcher, has been waiting for the birth of a prophesied child. This child has the power to change the world - for good, or for evil.

As the threat of war hangs over the land and the child is hunted for her extraordinary powers, it will become Geralt's responsibility to protect them all - and the Witcher never accepts defeat.

This was a bit flat I’m not sure I can say I really enjoyed it I didn’t hate it and it was ok but meh. I think I’m being slightly generous with a 3 star but not sure it’s as low as a 2!

The premise
Weird grown up sci-fi Zootropolis
I think Will Smith is having the time of his life. It might be a bit of a mid life crisis, going back into action films but he pulls it off so well and has proven he can do more serious acting. He seems to now be free to pick odd roles that he can have fun with.
The film is set in an alternative reality 2000 years after an epic battle of good and evil. This isn’t explored in too much detail but enough to get the gyst. Good won, orca sided with evil. Now in present day LA the city is run by elves, orcs are the downtrodden members of society and humans pretty much everything in between.
Will Smith is a cop partnered with the force’s first Orc cop. Yes a bit like Zootropolis if you must draw a comparison. He snd his partner become embroiled in a fight to stop evil elves from resurrecting the dark lord, rrying to protect a young Bright (being with magical powers) and a wand from falling into the hands of corrupt cops, orc and human gangbangers and those evil elves.
The action is non-stop and well done, with some real edge of seat moments.
The main Gripe for me was that despite it being 2 hours long there wasn’t time to follow up with how safe Will Smith’s wife and child were during this.
Otherwise really enjoyable film in a very interesting world that I’d love to see more of (I believe there is a sequel planned but a tv series would be great).

Was this even in the theatre??
Not a bad action movie with lots of killing but I wish there had been some plot development with the fantasy characters. There was so much potential for a great story with elves and ogres and magic all coexisting with humans. But instead I feel like this movie was just a compilation of all the action scenes from a good movie and they used the thinnest plot line to string them together.

Masterpiece
There is little I can say that has not already been said about The Lord of the Rings. It is an epic story of friendship, love, betrayal, war and essentially a coming of age journey. Middle earth and all its inhabitants come alive in your hands...you are transported to a world in chaos, a world of change where nothing is certain. Battle with dwarfs and elves, fight along side men who are impossibly brave and flawed and cry as the tiniest of people carry the biggest of burdens.
This book and the subsequent movies based on the world have been well quoted and are almost inbedded in British culture.
I envy those who haven't read them yet..you have a fantastic journey ahead. It will not be easy (this is not light reading) but it will be more than worth it. Enjoy, and give the elves my love.

Quite Interesting (QI) (0 more)
A bit smarty pants (0 more)
The podcast brought to you by the QI Elves (those that write the questions on popular TV panel show QI), can be interesting at times. However, as with Answer Me This, I quickly found the presenters to not have enough charisma and just come across as smarty pants (I get enough of those people at work!). The reason Stephen Fry is so good on QI is because he matches intelligence with personality. Remove the latter and you just have a smug know-it-all.
