Netflix film starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx as two now-married ex-CIA operatives who are now being pursued by mysterious forces roughly 14 years after they went to ground, faking their own death, when Diaz's character became pregnant.

But when a fight they are involved in goes viral it has unintended consequences, shining a light back on them and drawing them back into the murky world of international espionage, but now with kids in tow.

And, yes, the title is a meta-pun: not only are the two characters 'Back in Action', but so too are Diaz - this is her first movie in something like 10 years - and Foxx.

THE STERLING ACQUISITION is the first book in the Manufactured Mates series, and introduces you to a dystopian Omegaverse. Dante works for Gensyn and has gone to the SVI sector, all in the name of corporate espionage. As part of that plan, he meets with Leo, an alpha who is well-known for having a troublesome omega, Orion. Leo is supposed to be his 'in' for the espionage, but instead, Dante becomes obsessed with Orion. What follows is a story of (literally) how one person can change the other.

This was a great, different story that I not only enjoyed but also appreciated. I don't know if I'd survive in that world, especially not in the corporate world, as their corporate-speak left me cold. In fact, I nearly gave up on the story because I didn't like it that much! Stick with it - it gets better, I promise. The corporate-speak is there for a reason, and you will easily see the difference it marks as the story progresses.

Evenly paced and well written, this story hooked me in. The main characters are great, and are also ably supported by side characters, all of whom have hidden depths. Well, most of them. I look forward to returning to this world and seeing more of how the Primal Triad develops.

In the ways of mystery, intrigue, and espionage in both the past and present narrative, I thought that [b:The Intelligencer|1098168|The Intelligencer|Leslie Silbert|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1180962888s/1098168.jpg|1135397] was better (only brought up because I read it recently). I am a bit disappointed that there wasn't more of those in it and less romance, but not much. While predictible and not always original, it still has a charm of its own and, at times, was impossible to put down. The characters were great and I enjoyed Amy's spirited ways and the banter between her and Richard. All the secondary characters, epecially Jane and Richard's family and friends, were interesting and added to the story. I really liked Eloise, and even though she's not in it much, I really got a sense of knowing her and I can't wait to find out what happens with her next. That intrigues me as much as finding out what happens next with the Pink Carnation!

I haven't come across many books with the past/present espionage storyline and would be interested in reading more, so I'm glad that the author has decided to write more of these novels. I hope the sequels are equally as engaging and fun! And some more mystery might be nice too.

The one thing that kind of bothered me was that the title implies it is about the Pink Carnation when there really isn't much about ol' Pinkie. And the one major mission isn't really described at all! Probably because it didn't really involve the central characters or story, I imagine.</spoiler>
