Washington changing direction with style
Brutal, hard-hitting film in which an old hand (Washington) educates a narcotics rookie (Hawke) in the 'realities' of the job.
Tensions begin to mount when it transpires that the realities are considerably more 'real' than the rookie is prepared for, and a whole lot dirtier than he was expecting.

Whenthis film came out I think it was the fist time Washington had taken a part where he wasn't Mr Nice-Guy, which was a nice twist that he carried brilliantly
Ethan Hawke, an actor I've always thought very underused, also delivers a characteristically good performance

"This is one of the most visual books I've ever read. I just felt as if I was witnessing every scene firsthand, and my imagination was painting the most colorful pictures of North Africa, the cafés and the desert. I remember that when I read it, I was completely taken away from my life. Actually, I think this was one of the books Ethan [Hawke] gave me."

A tedious lifeless film

This crime drama based which is based on a real life incident had the potential to be really good but it turned out to be a dull and boring.A good cast in ethan hawke, mark strong and noomi rapace were wasted.

We start off with kaj (hawke) holding up a bank in Stockholm with the intention of getting his friend gunnar (strong) out of prison.Kaj turns out to be pretty rubbish at being a robber and the hostages (mainly rapace) end up having to help them out and with this we eventually find out how the phrase "stockholm syndrome" came about.

Who has a projector and super 8 mm tapes??
Sinister- is creppy, scary, terfying and overall a underrated movie. Its also directed by Scott Derrickson.

The plot: True-crime writer Ellison Oswald (Ethan Hawke) is in a slump; he hasn't had a best seller in more than 10 years and is becoming increasingly desperate for a hit. So, when he discovers the existence of a snuff film showing the deaths of a family, he vows to solve the mystery. He moves his own family into the victims' home and gets to work. However, when old film footage and other clues hint at the presence of a supernatural force, Ellison learns that living in the house may be fatal.

Ethan hawke was really good in this movie. He is a underrated actor.

Sinister- might make you have nightmares at night, but overall its a okay horror movie.

Watched what is definitely one of my favorite movies of the year so far recently, unfortunately it was on a little screen on my flight back to Hawaii. Name of the movie is Blaze, written and directed by Ethan Hawke, and is based on the outlaw country singer and songwriter legend Blaze Foley. If you don't add this to your watch list then I'll have to have Deputy Dawg throw you in movie jail.
