Ruth Angharad (2 KP) rated Instagram in Apps

However when there are problems with instagram they can be horrendous! It can log you out, freeze your phone completely and there are areas of instagram that are so dark and mentally quite disturbing that it could cause real distress. This would be something I would watch and manage carefully especially with children but it is overall an amazing platform.

Peter Shephard (2822 KP) rated Samsung Galaxy S8 in Tech

I say pretty decent; just by tweaking it slightly, and having slightly lower screen resolution (only noticable if you watch films) or extends it by a good few hours. By turning full power saving on (and even still having Facebook, WhatApp etc with notifications, and with light use) I have taken it camping on a Friday, and had enough battery to navigate my way home on the Monday.
For someone who wants a tablet, and a phone, go for the S8+ and just get that. They are absolutely brilliant, and although they are now a couple of years old, they are still right at the too of the leagues (in my opinion).

Sarah (7800 KP) rated Friend Request in Books
Mar 29, 2018
Unsurprisingly considering the title, it’s based on an ominous and sinister friend request, which is actually one of the better things about the book. It’s very relatable as there’s not many people who don’t have Facebook nowadays, the problem is that I didn’t find Louise to be a very relatable protagonist. Some of her thoughts and actions were just a little too far fetched and didn’t make a lot of sense, even when you took the unfolding events into account.
The book itself was well written and it did at least keep me intrigued for the most part, but for me it was really let down by the ending. I was expecting more a shocking twist, but instead it just predictable and a bit dull. If it wasn’t for the ending, I may have rated it a little higher.

Lottie disney bookworm (1056 KP) rated Wonderland: Alice in Poetry in Books

Had you never come our way,
Alice, where we'd be today?
If you love Alice and Wonderland then this is the book for you. Some poems you will know, such as the iconic 'The Walrus and the Carpenter' but there are also some new pieces, inspired by the classic tale, waiting to be discovered.
This collections comprises of 53 poems which was much larger than I was expecting. Obviously, OBVIOUSLY a lot of these are penned by Lewis Carroll: it would be sacrilegious otherwise. However, I was impressed by the inclusion of modern poets in order to appeal to the younger reader: even Facebook gets a mention!
The illustrations by Sir John Tenniel are perfect and I loved the italic additions throughout the book which educate the reader as to the inspiration behind the verses.
An anthology of fantasy; this collection is perfect for our busy lives when we need a quick five minutes of escapism.
