Arienna is a wayward brownie that wants to have love and sex and lots of it. She has had her heartbroken too many times especially when her ex marries her mother!! She gets drunk then wakes up in a fairy prison with her best friend can she form an alliance to help the fairies bring peace to the kingdoms or will she be executed for her sins?

I really enjoy Miranda Grant's writing and stories I have read the fairy-tale of the myths series. This book has a lot more sex and steamy scenes and a lot more graphic violence then the others I have read but there are also a lot of other emotions involved and you can feel them with the way she writes. She is a fantastic author with a fantastic imagination and I cannot wait to read more from her.

Well done Miranda 4/5 stars

Romantasy.

A mix of Romance and Fantasy.

Not a genre I'm familiar with, nor one that - to be honest - really holds all that much appeals to me. However, I still thought I would give this a go, mainly out of curiosity.

This is the first in Sarah J Maas's 'Court of Thorns and Roses' series, set in a not-too-dissimilar world to our except where fairies (and not necessarily the Tinkerbell, happy-go-lucky type) are real, and in which - after killing one such who was in shapeshifted wolf form to feed her starving family - Feyre is dragged across the wall (which is the dividing line between their world and ours) to the faerie realm, where things prove not at all to be what she expected.

I can say I've read it now.

I *may* read some more of the series, but not in any rush to do so.

First Jewel Book
I had no expectation when I picked this book up. I knew about the author but I didn't read any reviews about this book. And when I started it I didn't want to put it down I wanted to finish it.
Holly Black does an amazing job mixing the human side into the fairy side. She writes it like fairies could possibly be right. There were surprises in the book that I didn't see coming but I was happy for. The action and the emotion in the book makes you actually feel for the character like they are real.
I think the best part to this book and all of Holly's books is she doesn't make a realistic character she makes a realistic world. She puts in real world situations that actually happen and it brings the story to life even more.
Darkest Part Of the Forest, is in my Jewel Collection.
