My Mother's Quilt is a sweet and thoughtful book. It sure to tell you about each quilt and tells you the story behind each one. Not only that, the author puts it in where you learn her family history as you read it. Each quilt tells about each crafter and her life and its only story. It passed down from generation to generation.

It's a Nonfiction story to me. You also learn about faith and family history and learn a lot about how hard it is to create a quilt. The author wanted to tell you about the family history, though quilts and how it helped with life and shaping each family member and their family through each quilt.

This book is best for quilters and fans that enjoy learning about quilts.

"I’m a history major. I love history and I love the family values and to see how that whole story unfolded. Literally, if it’s on TV and I just watch it for a second, I’m drawn in immediately. The story is so compelling. I just can’t turn away."

"A true story, which I love. Edmund de Waal writes the story of his family and the destruction of it through WWII. It’s told through the history of a collection of Japanese netsuke miniature sculptures. A beautiful and moving story."

Buried in a Bog (County Cork, #1)

Maura Donovan is fulfilling a promise to her Gran and visiting the part of Ireland where the family originated. However, her time of discovering family history is interrupted by two bodies – one dredged up from a bog and one more modern victim.

Sadly, the mystery takes a back, back seat to the story of Maura learning family history and discovering the part of Ireland. The author obviously loves the area and brings it to vivid life, but it over shadows the mystery, which takes a back seat. The characters were enjoyable, but not enough to make me long for a repeat visit to County Cork.

Di caprio Hardy (0 more)
The story, history is muddled (0 more)
Not as good as its made out
Not Di Caprios best film, there are several others more worthy of an Oscar win.
Standard revenge story crap with some animal mauling and family tragedy thrown in on top

"I loved Ken Burn’s documentary on the Roosevelt’s so much that I immediately ordered “No Ordinary Time.” This is, without question, one of the most fascinating books available about America’s most fascinating family; where one literally becomes a fly on the wall to 20th century history and power."

This was a well thought book to read. It about a Old woman and her home a bit along with quilting. We find out some things about Mrs. Compson. We also learn about her family history a bit and Elm Creek Manor. It quite a sweet story.

If you decide to pick this book up and start reading you will finding out the family history of Elm Creek Manor. Sarah is hired to be a personal assistant to help clean up the Manor. Matt is in charge of the restoration of the Manor.

This book is about forming friendships, relationships and quilting. You will be amazed by what all in the this book and what is about.

[Conversations with Amelia] by [Kathleen Schmitt] cover both the history of one of the greatest women, Amelia Earhart, but also the growing pains of a family after WWII. All seen through the eyes of Hannah, who is very naive in the beginning. Her confidant is an imaginary Amelia who gives her good advice and keeps her "flying right".

I have been looking forward to reading this book because Amelia Earhart is one of my favorite figures in history. I was not disappointed. It is well written and interweaves the history with the events happening in the story so that it has a really nice flow. I highly recommend reading this book.
