Triple Threat
Twice Told Tales- is very like "Tales of Terror", were it tells three different stoires that all star Vincent Price. Both films are based off of stories.

The Plot: Vincent Price stars in three horror stories. In "Dr. Heidegger's Experiment," Dr. Carl Heidegger (Sebastian Cabot) reanimates his long-dead fiancée. In "Rappacini's Daughter," psychotically over-protective father Giacomo Rappacini (Price) injects his daughter, Beatrice (Joyce Taylor), full of poisons that kill anyone she comes into physical contact with. Finally, in "The House of the Seven Gables," Gerald Pyncheon (Price) moves into his cursed family mansion with his new wife.

Its a decent film.

Best sequel ever made
Take what you know know about sequels and throw it away. A rareity happens in this film when the second movie is better than it's orginal and that is hard to do when the first movie is one of the best movies ever.

The continuation of the Corleone family out in vegas trying to set their family up for ever. We also get a glimpse of the life of Vito Corleone when he first came to this country. The tie ins of these two stories make this one of the most studied sequels of all time. We see the now older Michael as head of the family and the young Vito getting his feet together. It is kind of like watching MIchael follow in Vito's steps the whole way through. Of course there is tradgey with family involved especially in betrayal and the loss of close friends. A must see

They do make a third to close out the story but eh

An underrated Disney film, Lilo and Stitch is a great movie. It shows the hardships of keeping family together and the value of knowing you can pick your family, sort of.
Lolo is a strange kid even under Disney standards, with her stories, voodoo dolls, and taking random (tourist) pictures. There are two places that never fail to make me cry and if I don't at the scene with the hammock when Nani is singing to Lilo then I lose it when Stitch is lost in the forest waiting on his family. It's not all sad Lilo teaching Stitch about how to behave using Elvis as a model and everything falling apart is priceless.
I love David and although Nani is too busy to be looking for any romantic anything he doesn't overly pressure her and you can tell he cares for her and her family. Although he is way to chill when he meets all the other aliens.
Good movie for any age.

Everything about this tv series is outstanding (0 more)
I was hooked on this tv series from the first episode. The cinematography the soundtrack the story line the actors are all excellent. Set in Birmingham in the 1920’s based on the lives of a notorious gang led by the Shelby family which is meant to be based on true stories of this era in this area. Can’t wait for the next series

When it comes to Wanda Brunstetter books, I will read it instantly, no questions asked. She is truly a talented author. So, when I sat down to read this story, I knew I was in for a treat. This book has 3 stories, each about a mother, daughter, and granddaughter. Each story is written by a generation of the Brunstetter family and all were equally captivating.

Each of the women these stories are written about, suffer emotional times, heartache and devastation, and really tug at the heartstrings. I can't imagine going through the But, throughout all, the stories are focused on one beloved, cherished quilt with thought provoking scripture verse embroidered on it. This quilt reminds me of ones that my grandma quilts. She doesn't add the scripture verse but she will often add our names and the year she quilted it to the quilt. I have several and cherish them just as the characters in these stories do!

This book will completely captivate you and keep you up long into the night, turning each page. You'll fall in love with beautifully chiseled characters, and the presence of God is strong within these pages. The bonds of family are wrapped up in this quilted story and I loved that feeling! Wanda, Jean and Richelle, like a quilt, have pieced together a beautiful collection of stories for readers. I can't wait to read another 5 star collaboration by the talented hands of these women.

*I received a complimentary copy of this book from Shiloh Run Press/Wanda's Clippity Clop Club and was under no obligation to post a review, positive or negative.*

Angela's Ashes was an extremely heavy, tragic but touching memoir peppered with humor and emotion and love. Frank McCourt is a master at telling stories, but this memoir of his Irish Catholic family, spans so many subjects, so creatively and so beautifully - from family, to love, religion, sickness, abandonment, poverty... The hardship that immigrants had to go through is heartbreaking - as is their strength, and will to survive and make better lives for themselves. So much emotion after reading this. I don't know if this story will leave me for awhile. Definitely something for the mature reader, and definitely something that stays within you.

Listen just for Tom Hanks' mellifluous voice
Tom Hanks turns out to be as authentically genuine a writer as can be. The stories in this book range from the hilarious to the deeply touching.

They move in period, location, and manner, but all demonstrate a joy in writing, a pleasure in communicating an intensely American sense of atmosphere, friendship, life and family that is every bit as smart and engaging as the man himself.

While the stories are witty, it is more so because of the man himself. They may not be Pulitzer material, but it truly is a pleasure to read his book while thinking about this imaginative man.

Don't compare this book to American Gods. You will be disappointed; for good reason. Unlike American Gods, this is Anansi's book (or his son's book). This book is humorous, silly, and whimsical in its lightness. Not to suggest the West African trickster can't be dark and scary that is just not the point in this story. Some parts do get dark and scary.
It is a story of family among other things. For people who are not a mythology nut like me. There are stories about Anansi in the book (somewhat like the coming to America stories in American Gods) so you will have an idea who this slightly random god is.

Charming and wonderful
I love seeing older actors and actresses in leading roles, these days Hollywood has age washed EVERYTHING. It's refreshing to see the leads are 70+, their daughters are 40+ and it's charming to see how life changes for all the characters. Both me and my husband enjoy watching together, well worth checking out!

This book collection is great and it somewhat runs the story together. They somewhat go from one family to another in-twine with the previous story. That is great for it makes some since. I really enjoyed the first three stories in this collection.

Each story is a little different from the next but some has some of the same things in them. Will they make the right decision for them or not.
