Lctownie (28 KP) rated Fleabag - Season 1 in TV

Uncomfortably Wonderful
What a find. I was pointed in this direction after a conversation with a colleague about my love of the series Killing Eve. The mind behind that fantastic series wrote and stars in this most wonderful of gems. It made me laugh out loud and had me crying into my tea cup, such a brilliant rollercoaster of TV series. If you get the chance watch this, you won't regret it . Note to readers - season 2 is better than season 1, it made my Sunday complete.

Peter G. (247 KP) rated King Kong (2005) in Movies

Bloated, long and over indulgent Peter Jackson effort that is as boring as a day trip to boring town in the country of boredom.
It picks up towards the last third of the film as the action begins, the animation of Kong and other creatures are fantastic, however you have to sit through mountains of exposition long before they make it to the island, it's a long wait for such a small payoff, give it a miss.

Gripping remake lets it's Scandi roots show.
Contains spoilers, click to show
A truly excellent thriller, this U.S. remake of a Norwegian film retains the feel of it's Scandinavian genesis.
Tense, twitchy and enthralling with fantastic performances, potent settings, and a great script and direction.
Pacino plays an L.A. cop hiding from his own guilt while investigating the death of a girl in Alaska.
Robin Williams is chillingly convincing as the manipulative bad man, proving yet again that he was a masterful actor as well as a gifted comedian.

Story
I really liked this game, bought directly as a result of playing Destiny. I was a little surprised to take down a major boss and the final boss in the first tries, as I am quite used to dying several times over before beating them. However, I still intend to buy the expansions and carry on as the story is fantastic and the game draws me in for hours without getting bored. I look forward to exploring the story further.

Not the Jumanji of My Younger Years
I typically don't like "reboots" because most of the time it seems to mean "remake". However, Jumanji is a true reboot. It took the basic premise of the original and completely updated the concept for today's audience. I was super excited to see it as I'm a fan of everyone in the cast and they did not disappoint. Their chemistry was amazing their characters kicked ass and were hilarious.

Jaime Lynch (18 KP) rated Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in Books

Slow start, great end
This book was sort of a paradox. You couldn’t wait to see how it all ended, but you never wanted the series to end. It was a bit of a slow start and middle. But that is what the author was going for. She wanted to create that experience and she was successful. The end picked up quick and then...all done! So sad... Glad that she randomly comes out with the support books like Fantastic Beasts to keep us junkies going.

Hazel (2934 KP) rated Game Players in Books

This is an intense and enthralling read with sharp contrasts between the innocence of youth and the dark underbelly of society. It is unique in that it centres around a group of 6 young children enjoying the freedom of childhood until they naively become embroiled in something that will change their lives forever.
Well written, great pace, fantastic characters and a complex plot makes this book a must read.
Thanks to the publisher, Bloodhound Books, via NetGalley for my copy in return for an honest review.

Lacking something to keep it from greatness
The characters were all right. Humor was there. Generic plot I thought that dragged at times. Nothing really special and just kind of going through the motions.
The bad guys were sort of generic, maybe supposed to be this way, not quite sure. II'm not the biggest fan of generic CGI movies anyways; although I did just get a new TV so it looks amazing/fantastic.
Probably in the bottom third of the MCU.

Dair was my favourite from the beginning anyway so this book just swept me off my feet and took my breath away! I'm still so hooked with this series and theres no sign of me ever stopping. I could read it every day and never get tired. The characters are still developing in such a fantastic way and they are learning how to be together and help Haret! I know they will succeed in the end and I'm glad I can read the journey the whole way!
