By stitching together a medieval fantasy epic with a Guy Ritchie crime caper, Legend of the Sword delivers a King Arthur re-telling that stands on its own and is surprisingly unique

JBrack (17 KP) rated Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children in Books

Good family book
This is a great book to read with your children. The story is fun, exciting and easy enough for a fourth or fifth grader to read out loud and has a story that will keep you all entertained. Great youth introduction to the world of fantasy.

This is one of my favorite books. I love the use of history, fantasy elements, and the characters are interesting. The author, Deborah Harkness, is so nice and well-spoken. I wish I would have gone to the university she lectures at so I could have taken one of her classes.

Another great Discworld story
Terry Pratchett does it again with yet another great Discworld novel. Although the main protagonist Esk can be a little grating at times, Equal Rites introduces a fantastic character in Granny Weatherwax and tells an age old familiar story of men versus women, with a fantasy spin.

Amazing
Brilliant horror/fantasy/thriller.
Cast works well, story is gripping. Love all the references to my childhood! Demigoron actually made me jump!
Very much tapped into Stephen King’s realms with the story & progression

Rachel Howser Roberts (96 KP) rated Poets & Piracy (Black Ocean Mission 3) in Books
Aug 21, 2018 (Updated Aug 21, 2018)
Characters Coming into Their Own
Poets & Piracy saw the characters becoming distinct from their Firefly counterparts. We started to see some backstory, especially from Tanny as we met some of her family members. The series started to show promise of being a good stand alone fantasy rather than Firefly fan-fiction.
