Halloween: Resurrection (2002)
Halloween: Resurrection (2002)

Fair play, Halloween Resurrection is not an easy watch for a whole fistful of reasons. Terrible dialogue, boderline-offensive quick edits, a ill advised attempt and mixing in found footage, the forced nature of pretty much every plot point, the bizarre cold open where Laurie fucking KISSES Michael before being unceremoniously knifed out of the remaining 80 minutes. Honestly, Busta Rhymes roundhouse kicking Michael in the face whilst making innapropriate "Kung Fu" noises is probably the best bit.
The movie threatens to become entertaining for approximately 40 seconds following the excruciatingly annoying characters realisation that they're in danger, and the obligatory final-girl chase is ok, but that's ruined by Mr Rhymes returning to save the day whilst shitting out terrible one liners. Did Busta fund this thing or something?

Rick Rosenthal's return to the series is a far cry from the far superior Halloween II. Just an abhorrently crap film all round.

"I watched Serenity before Firefly [the TV series it was based on]. In 2000, binge-viewing wasn’t something that we did; we didn’t have access to that. If you missed a TV series, you just missed it. Or you’d record it on your VHS, right? It was a chore. In 2002 I was more of a country boy; I was always outside. But I like the whole idea of Serenity, the whole world, that outer rim world that we imagine that one day we will be [part of]. I actually felt this wasn’t too far out of our limits. You look at that ship, and it’s a junky old beat up ship. You would think after a thousand years, we will have things like that — that will fly and that will do things like that. We do. We have shuttles and they don’t look too far off [from those]. [That world is] only going to get closer into our grasp."

Been playing since Tuesday so far not bad game will be as good as odyssey was for me earlier days yet anyway so far I've explored quite a bit of Norway and the people u meet so hopefully I will reach England part of the game next week. But there's a but after playing the first two hours of the game started getting problems with certain quests were playing up not letting me complete them so I went on Google to find out why what the issue was and there answer was the game had bug issues and I should restart the game which I did which was a pain and had to redo everything I had done up to that point and the problem is no longer there. That was a relief to me I thought I did something wrong. Anyway going to keep playing hope it gets good

"Your mission, should you choose to accept it ..."

Three films in to the Tom Cruise starring 'Mission: Impossible' series, and we're on to our third director: Here, JJ Abrams taking over from John Woo who himself took over from Brian de Palma.

And, so far, each of those directors has stamped their own identity on their respective films.

This is the one where Ethan Hunt is, as the movie starts, retired from active duty and spends his time training new recruits to the IMF while also just about to settle down with his fiancee.

When one of those recruits goes missing on an routine operation, however, Hunt soon finds himself drawn back into active service ...

This is also the one where the late Philip Seymour Hoffin is the main villain of the piece; the one that first introduces Simon Pegg's character of Benji (who, like Ving Rhames, so far appears in all the later instalments) and that has the whole 'bomb-in-your-head' shtick.

Speaking of scripting problems… a fun game to play when watching this Netflix exclusive flop is to count how many lazy, generic lines are said in all the right places. Even better, try pausing it before a character is obviously about to give a pithy reply to someone and guess what they will say. You will be right most of the time. This game is far more fun than actually watching this ploddingly predictable tale, that is a half decent idea ruined at every turn by inept film-making. Any tension is consistently drained by the awful directing and editing, and every time someone speaks my sphincter tightened in embarrassment for the actors. Charlize Theron tries, bless her, but ultimately her earnest expression just makes her look constipated – I guess if you were that old you would be! Almost nothing here to recommend that you can’t find in dozens of other places done far better.

Far too simple
I've been eyeing this game up for quite some time, I mean who wouldn't want a board game like the original in the film? Sadly however when I got a chance to play this (fortunately for free), I was hugely disappointed.

This game looks great, but it's the gameplay that lets this down massively. There are some nods to the original film but the problem is that the gameplay is just far too simple. Only younger children could really get a kick out of this for long. It's just a basic game involving rolling dice and after playing 2 rather short games, we called it a day and quite frankly, wouldn't miss playing it again. I appreciate you can't make a board game exactly like the game in the film, but they really could've tried to make something a little more exciting and interesting. Definitely not one I'd advise paying full price for!
