So many spots of this story surprised me... it kept me on the edge of my seat... made me think and wonder.. it was very entertaining and I'm glad I got to review it because it was very good. The characters were easy to like and understand. the plot was amazing and kept at a fast pace and this is coming from someone who isn't really into the dystopian thing but this one was really interesting.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2357 KP) rated Say Goodbye in Books

Gary Kellerman gets involved in a mystery when his neighbor dies in a car accident. To complicate matters, he can't hide his attraction to the only witness. Good story, likeable characters. However, I found the romantic sub-plot moved too fast for me to buy and I never got used to the writing style.

Mar 9, 2018
Faux finisher Annie Kincaid is restoring some old paintings in a chapel in Oakland when she runs into grave robbers in the cemetery outside. Meanwhile, she also hearing rumors that a reproduction inside might be the real thing. As always this was a fun romp with likeable characters. I could turn the pages fast enough.

Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated Roll Against Trust in Books
Jul 10, 2018
This was an extremely fast read. I enjoyed the plot and the characters but I do wish that the characters were more developed. I couldn't really connect to any characters simply because of the curse of the novilla. There just isn't enough space to develop a character when you only have 80 pages to read. All in all, I enjoyed it but it was missing the characters that I am sure I would love if fleshed out.

Dork_knight74 (881 KP) rated Hereafter (2010) in Movies
Aug 8, 2018
This movie is on Netflix right now. It's not a fast paced movie. It touches on the death and the afterlife and its affect on three peoples' lives. Each in a different way. Turned out to be pretty good although it's not my usual kind of movie. The acting was done well and the story, though slow going, kept my interest. The ending was a little predictable but it didn't matter to the overall storytelling. Worth a watch!

Jemma Walsh (81 KP) rated Silent Scream (D.I. Kim Stone, #1) in Books

Great read
I personally really enjoyed this book, I was instantly hooked into the story line, solver a murder that happened years before...
I really liked the main character Kim stone, giving us great details of why this case meant so much because of her awful past, and how strong of a woman she is now, this story is very fast paced and keeps you interested constantly and guessing who done it and will they be found out.

MissCagey (2652 KP) rated West Side Story (1961) in Movies

Based around the story of Romeo and Juliet, Tony (ex leader of the Jets) falls in love with Maria (sister of Bernardo, the leader of The Sharks). The two gangs organise a rumble whereby the leader of the Jets is killed by Bernardo, in turn, Bernado is then killed by Tony. I fast forwarded through some of the songs as some, particularly the opening song drag on but "America" is a fire-cracker and "Tonight" is just heavenly.

Milleen (47 KP) rated The Girlfriend in Books
Nov 14, 2018
A thrilling debut novel about a mother, a son, his girlfriend and the consequences of a lie told in desperation. The dynamics of the females in this relationship are twisted, a kind of domestic darkness played out on a believable backdrop of upper class Kensington and council house Croydon. A chilling account that will make you value your relationships with your in-laws, the fast pace and compelling drama will keep you reading until the wee hours

Dork_knight74 (881 KP) rated The Raid 2 (2014) in Movies
Nov 17, 2018 (Updated Nov 17, 2018)
Intense
This Indonesian action movie on Netflix is a non-stop martial arts bloodfest. The acting was decent enough and the cinematography was done really well. The premise is simple - a raid on a drug lord's tenement building goes south fast, leaving most of the team dead and the rest simply trying to survive. If you're into gritty action flicks with plenty of gory fight scenes, this one is definitely worth a watch. (Unless you don't like subtitles).
