Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2496 KP) rated The Chocolate Book Bandit (A Chocoholic Mystery, #13) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Lee sits in on a library board meeting, but the missing member is found murdered at the bottom of the basement stairs. The woman was quiet, and everyone seemed to like her. So why was she murdered?
These books are always light and fun, and this is no exception. I do wish we'd see more of the sizeable collection of supporting characters, but Lee is always a fun host to a fast paced puzzle that will leave you drooling for chocolate and the next book.

Trixie and her friends take a trip to Missouri, where Trixie finds some stranger papers in her hotel room's garbage can. Soon, someone is following them. What do the symbols on the paper mean?
I'm torn on this one. It was my introduction to the series, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. The fast moving and suspenseful plot captivated the 7th grade me and introduced me to life long friends. However, reading it as an adult, boy to all the characters do some pretty stupid things.

Lindsay (1804 KP) rated The Amazing Adventure of Paddy Platypus in Books
Feb 15, 2018
I was enjoyed this book. It tells about how Platypus are. They tell as a bit about them. We find out how fast he is and what he good at. It also teaches us about good at and what they do not like.
It a really good book for young readers and children. It funny as well. It quite a cutie book and really enjoy it. Paddy goes for adventure and to find out where and what happens at the end you should read the book. The pictures are good for children that can not read for it quite entering along with it being a chapter book style.

The antithesis of monopoly
This game really is the opposite of monopoly - you start with £1m and have to go round the board trying to lose money as fast as you can, like Brewster's Millions the board game. Exciting trips to the casino and horse racing and spending on the stock exchange give you extra chances to blow your dough. I loved this game growing up, and have bought a second hand version to play with my kids, who also love it. Truly an enjoyable family game trying to get rid of as much money as you can (which my kids are great at IRL!).
Lilyn G - Sci-Fi & Scary (91 KP) rated The Exorcist (1973) in Movies

I love this movie
I watched this movie when I was way too young, and it terrified me. Fast forward years later when I had my first kiddo, she was asleep up in her room, and I went to watch the movie again. Quickly it occurred to me that I couldn't watch it. I was still so scared of that movie that I was sure my kid was going to get possessed or something from me inviting evil in the house.
Completely ridiculous, but there it is! LOL
(I've since lost some of my fear of the movie and now can just giggle about it.)

Dracoria Malfoy (690 KP) rated The Sun is Also a Star in Books

As a fan of slowburn, this book is not exactly for me, considering the romance is in a literal day. However, credit is given where credit is due (is that the saying?) and truly, this was a very good book. It was fast-paced, complicated, and the perspectives of other people along with the two mains were a blessing, kind of a quiet separation from the main thing, shedding light on the fact that people who you don't know significantly have complicated lives, just like you. This book proves that fate and science are different, but maybe they just go hand in hand with each other.

Introducing Kate Winslet!
Before Peter Jackson was instructing us on the ways of Bilbo and Gollum, he introduced us to Pauline and Juliet, two young girls who form an intense, provocative and somewhat delusional relationship.
They become fast friends and construct a fantasy world where both of them can live whilst they make some gruesome decisions about their own parents. Throughout the film you are unsure what you are viewing is real of part of the dream.
I loved this film for its portrayals of the young girls and the lengths they will go to remain together even after their volatile relationship is discovered.

Cranky Dad UK (11 KP) rated The Incredibles 2 (2018) in Movies
Jul 17, 2018 (Updated Jul 17, 2018)
Incredibly good fun.
Incredibles 2 is a fast paced, funny and visually jaw dropping experience.
The story carries on immediately after the first one finishes and deals with the struggle of parenthood, in an intelligent and relatable way.
All the laughs and stunning action sequences are there as hoped for and boy do the set pieces look amazing.
It's a shame we have had to wait so long for this sequel but when you watch it, it feels like the super family have never been away.
A superbly entertaining sequel.

I listened to audio of this - and it was spectacular. I don't think I would have rated this book as high had I not listened to the audio of it.
The story was a bit old ......stuff I've read before - a bit boring - but alas, it's a bit middle grade and I'm used to more fast paced exciting blood and guts - but it was still fun to listen to - epic-ly fun to listen to - my first book with full cast and boy was it worth it! I will look for more books like that because wow..........just, listen to the audio you wont be disappointed!
