Dominique Marie (7 KP) rated The Call of the Wild, White Fang, and Other Stories in Books

This is a beautiful cloth-bound copy of The Call of the Wild and White Fang. I received a copy of this book from Goodreads Giveaways. I love it! It is even nicer than it looks online, and the paper even feels nice and "fancy". These are two of favorite stories, and I love that they are included in one volume.

honestly? my favorite classic (after P&P of course). It's beautiful, sad, and full of gorgeous moments. i genuinely love this book so much like i cannot express it. the language is simple, which made it an easy read for 2nd grade me, and the characters and storyline played out particularly well. i truly loved this story and everything about it.
Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated Parable of the Sower in Books

I received a copy of Parable of the Sower from Abrams ComicArts through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Parable of the Sower is one of my favorite books and it translates really well to the graphic novel format. I loved Lauren's journal entries.
This is such an important story and I'm thrilled at the idea of it finding a wider audience.

Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated William Shakespeare's Jedi the Last: Star Wars Part the Eighth in Books

These books are so much fun! I love the character translations and the characters dialogue and the hilarious easter eggs.
TLJ was not my favorite but this book brought a spark that I didn't really appreciate in the film proper.
It's just...we could have Luke's heart-wrenching reaction to Hans death and we got nipples?
Anyway, I loved the book.

Fell in love immediately
Girls of Paper and Fire is captivating, mind blowing, tragic, and above all, realistic (even in a fantasy setting). It explores themes of sexual assualt, violence, war, imperialism, as well as women veing attracted to other women in a patriarchal setting.

What a rollercoaster! For any Jane Austen fan out there, this is one that you need to go watch. The filmmakers do a fantastic job of creating a lovely period comedy that is rarely seen nowadays. Beautifully crafted, well shot, Production Design was absolutely perfect. I have very high praise for this film! Probably my favorite of 2020 so far!

Great one!
Ryan Reynolds is one of my favorite actors. This movie is another example why. Great action with plenty of humor. The story's premise was interesting and it kept you watching. Everyone else delivered great performances as well. Great cinematography and effects topped it off. If you're into action movies or political thrillers this is one for you. Worth a watch!
