QUESO!: Regional Recipes for the World's Favorite Chile-Cheese Dip by Lisa Fain a cookbook dedicated queso. This book has a wide variety of different versions of one of our favorite game-time dips. Most do rely on processed cheese, but several use natural cheeses.

The book explains the modern origin of Chile Con Queso, and tracks the history and regional differences of the dish. The recipes provided range from early appearances in magazines and Woman's clubs cooking publications, to restaurant versions that popularized the dish, and ending with modern vegan varieties.

It is a fun cookbook. Queso is incredibly comforting, delicious, and easy to make. Each recipe is presented with an explanation of the geographical origin of the version, and / or some tips on how to incorporate it into a meal. The recipes are straightforward, and easy to follow. The delicious entrees included prove that Queso is not merely a side or dip. I did not know that I needed a book completely about Chile Con Queso until I read this book.

I received this ARC from Ten Speed Press via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade was my favorite game released for the Wii, and remains one of my favorite video games of all time. The hand-painted background illustrations and characters fly by as you explore the world, either as Momohime or Kisuke, and fight your way through each screen and each boss.

Part of the reason I love this game as much as I do is that it's an odd duck. There's too much role-play to be a full on action game, but too many elements of an action game to be a full on role-player; but still somehow manages to to feel quite like an action role-player. Muramasa occupies a weird middle ground that I haven't encountered in any other action/role-play title, and it's a middle ground that I keep going back to.

Lately my Wii has been just a Homebrew-channel-running emulator machine, but rediscovering Muramasa has turned it back into an actual Wii. I almost even want to buy a PS Vita, just to pick up a copy of Muramasa Rebirth!

Jojo Rabbit (2019)
Jojo Rabbit (2019)
2019 | Comedy, Drama, War
I think my expectations were too high for this film. I love Taika Waititi's films, and @What We Do In The Shadows (2014) is one of my favorite movies.
The satire wasn't strong enough in my opinion, this film was very much JoJo's Bildungsroman. There's nothing wrong with that, but I feel like that should have been more prominent in the marketing. There was not enough of making fun of Nazis. Taika was amusing as (s)Hitler. Something that bothered me (which probably won't bother other people), was the amount of 'Heil Hitlers'; that phrase just creeps me out to my core.

An interesting observation made at the beginning of the film was that the fans of Hitler were very much like the crazed fans of the Beatles. The way it's shown is very interesting.

Rebel Wilson was annoying, and her character added nothing. The stupid lines she had should have been left on the cutting room floor. Same Rockwell was my favorite character, by far. The kid that played JoJo was also very good, and I hope he does more films.

Overall, worth a watch if you're a Taika fan, but I personally needed more ruthless teasing of Nazis.

That pretty much sums up how I feel about Rebel Wilson in every film she’s in.

@Sarah Yeah, I have no idea as to why anyone casts her, she's super annoying.

Sleepaway Camp 1981: Sack Jason
Its Friday the 13th- my favorite day. To celebrate my favorite day, im going to review 3 of the Friday the 13th movies, starting with this one.

Part 2- picks up right after the first one. New Camp Consulers, a grown up Jason, though he's not wearing his hockey mask, he wears a sack over his face. I like the kills in this movie. Including Marks death- machete to the face, Jeff's and Sandra's death- implaled with a spear.

The only thing i dont like about this movie, that it ends all the suddenly. Thats this movies downfall, other than that its a good movie.

The plot: The second entry in the long-running horror series focuses on a group of teenage would-be counselors converging on Camp Crystal Lake for training under the tutelage of head counselor Paul (John Furey). Inevitably, Paul relates the story of Jason Voorhees (Warrington Gillette), a boy who ostensibly drowned at the camp and whose mother murdered a group of counselors in revenge. No one takes the tale seriously until a very much alive Jason begins gruesomely eliminating people.

Happy Friday the 13th.
